Typography 101, friend. This isn’t a “gotcha” flaw you think it is, it’s deliberate, pro-level typography. It's called vertical overshoot, a fundamental principle of good typeface design for visual harmony and readability.

Off center things can be more attention grabbing because your brain can pick up things like that subconsciously, maybe intentional?

The mis-alignment of the H & B aside, the curvature of the 'O' is *supposed* to be higher (and lower) to compensate for an optical illusion where curves appear smaller and shorter than they actually are. Look closely at ALL typefaces and you will see this.

Its not that uncommon when you are playing with “Os” in a design. It unbalance the whole thing.

This original logo was made by hand with cut out pieces before computers could do desktop publishing. They have just never changed it.

There's a lot of products out there with things off center, or 5-6 pixels off here and there. Drives you nuts when you are use to just staring at things all day long to find these errors.

It was a cut out logo, that was placed on a tv. Of course it was going to be off. It wasn't done with computers, but practical effects.

The O is supposed to be like that. All rounded tops and bottoms extend slightly beyond the line.
