makes no sense to be locked in an office when I can do the same work from my phone outside

It does. Work life separation.

If push back with, “it depends on how much money my agents will make with my decision on the 7th hole by the time I finish the round”. 🤔

I enjoy doing the opposite. Setup your phone so that the only thing you can do is vibe coding. No notifications, no social media, no scrolling. Eink helps with attention and sleep hygiene.

Endgame, avoid this. Use your best judgement. I'm always an advocate for using dumber phones but ones that can hold crucial apps so you're not bricked in modern society.

I have an e ink phone and I talk to it under the sun to complete my tasks. This is much healthier than sitting inside all day.

I get what you're saying, but when I'm in the doctor's office and would otherwise be staring at a wall or scrolling through mindrot headlines, I'll be doing something productive instead.

depends on the person, for me it fits in very nicely with how i live and opens me up MORE to be present as im never always wanting to code things from my phone, only to fix basic things and then live with peace of mind

I can mow my lawn and do other stuff while the clanker is doing its thing and the second he’s finished i can prompt him to do the next task. So basically killing 2 birds with 1 stone with little to no producivity loss as compared to doing those things separately (cositng 2x time)

I not agree. I've spent 13 years on a desk. I can code while walking in a forest or spending time in nature. It's the same 8h/day working but instead of standing on a desk, I can spend it outside moving. I am agree to not merge your personal life with your working life. You have multiple possibilities. One of it is to have a separate phone you are working with so once you go home your super smart phone is on your desk waiting you to come back tomorrow.

The most healthiest advice I can personally support. I would even go further. No phone at all in RL. Make face-to-face connections. Do not use the phone or any screens 2 hours before bedtime. Even don't use any electric devices in your bedroom except maybe an alarm clock.

I like sitting in a field and working. I like working from cafes. I like working from home. Why except the same environment every day when I can take the laptop or phone anywhere? Remote code! It’s brilliant.

It depends on the seasons, as for me. When you maximize your real life presence and family, it is one story. When you are all-in on the best work of your life, it is another story.

True. But it is good sometimes. Once I had fixed our production server Configs from my phone. It was kind urgent. So I did it. I was so happy I could do that. Hahaha
