Thank goodness that we still have easy access to the good versions of the game, but I gotta say that hytale is effectively Minecraft 2 in my heart now.

Old nether felt like an endless dark wasteland that had to be carefully maneuvered over long expeditions lest you lost your way. New nether feels like random chaos that doesn’t fit together properly and is only there as a stepping stone to visit for 5 minutes.

Ngl if Notch was still a dev I feel like he would have done a ton cooler stuff with the Nether and the End than Microslop did.

Nether was hit hard by PCs being strong enough to load chunks impractically far. That fog was so atmospheric.

It’s so much cooler when you discover that the netherrack block's texture is literally designed to look like a block of bloody flesh. Now the only good thing is the Background music... :/

I miss when the nether didnt have easy access to everything you need to survive. Like food and wood, it was meant to be an inhospitable plunge into hell to acquire what you needed and get out.

Honestly I think the never overhaul was a good update. Nether still fills mostly the same and is still very dangerous with real reasons to go there for mid to late game progression.

They don't get that it basically was supposed to be an 8-bit Adventure Game in 3d where you can change the world as you see fit.

Definitely miss the Old Nether where it felt like it was the type of landscape that was actually quite hellish and it wasn't really such a nice place to be especially when you try to place a bed inside the Nether now New Nether cool and all but doesn't hold a candle to the old

We miss how it made us feel...it was just...the best.
