At #TransRights protest outside Parliament & Supreme Court. Demands for a blanket ban on trans people are morally wrong & wrong in law. Supreme Court said women’s organisations can only exclude trans people from women’s spaces if it is necessary to preserve women’s safety & dignity. But they are not legally required to exclude trans people. So no excuse for the automatic ban that anti-trans campaigners want. Any blanket exclusion would be unlawful. Here is a perfect example of Labor's economic stupidity. The fence behind me has cost you $250,000 a year for the past three years. This is because the Queensland Labor Government would rather waste your taxes on paying for a fence indefinitely instead of paying to rehabilitate the land so it can be used. If it were an old mine site, the Government would have forced the mining company to fix it immediately, but because the area is a demolished state hospital, Labor doesn't feel the need to act. They would rather throw your hard-earned tax dollars into a literal money pit. Add this to the list of reasons Labor is unfit to be running Queensland.

In 2021 CA began transferring men into women’s prisons. The results were entirely predictable: rape, assault, pregnancies. It’s so bad they’ve recently began distributing condoms to women in prison. In the midst of this dumpster fire, the folks running CA prisons just submitted a report to the legislature in March 2024 on sexual assault and prevention. It’s a real doozy. Link to full report in 🧵 There is not a SINGLE MENTION of sexual assault by male inmates and no plan to help mitigate or prevent such assault. Yet if you know where to look, there are tiny hints of the disaster they refuse to acknowledge. In one section it states, “For many years, only female staff members have searched female incarcerated persons. In January 2021, transgender, non-binary, and intersex persons were permitted to be searched by the gender of their preference.” Translation: Male inmates can demand a female staff member perform a strip search. What could go wrong? In August 2021, then WoLF Legal Director Lauren Adams testified to the California Senate Rules Committee that male inmates were getting ERECTIONS during these body searches. In response CA prisons now videotape all body searches & store the footage. (No one knows for how long.) Again and again, women’s privacy is being violated b/c of men. ❌Stop housing men in women’s prisons! ❌Stop this abusive and degrading practice! As a side note: The phrase “gender responsive” is used 10 times in the 11 page report. Can someone please tell me WTF that means? It clearly doesn’t mean being responsive to women’s safety and privacy in mind!

That change has undermined women’s rights, confused our laws, and opened the door to activist-driven policies in schools, workplaces and government departments. My bill removes "gender identity" as a protected category and restores the biological reality of male and female back into the law, where it should be. You can’t change your sex. You are either male or female. That’s determined by your DNA, not by your feelings. This debate matters. We’re seeing the damage done to children, the unfairness in women’s sport, and the silencing of anyone who speaks out. Australians are fed up. I won’t back down and I won’t stop telling the truth.

Bob Costas on CNN’s The Story Is with Elex Michaelson backed the IOC’s ban on biological males in women’s Olympic events. “Common sense is not transphobic,” he said, while stressing that transgender people deserve respect and dignity. His key points: -No trans man has ever successfully competed against men at the Olympics. -If Caitlin Clark made the NBA, it would be celebrated. -If a bench NBA player dominated the WNBA, “everybody would know that is BS.” Title IX was progressive for a reason — women’s sports categories exist to keep competition fair.

The shock decision by the Full Federal Court in Giggle v Tickle means women no longer have the right to gather in their own spaces without the presence of biological men. For the safety, privacy and dignity of women and girls, as well as men and boys, single-sex spaces must be protected. Biological sex matters. The Sex Discrimination Act as it’s been interpreted means gender ideology trumps biological reality. That’s profoundly wrong and unjust, and the law must be changed. I’m quite sick & tired of politicians being able to accurately talk about women in biological terms while Australian women are punished for understanding the exact same thing in other contexts where it *also* matters. Jacinta Allan is correct in just about everything she is saying here - a rarity for her - the problem is that this accuracy about women & girls is not being extended to our other rights - spaces, sport, services, lesbian rights - and is instead dismissed by everyone in her government & party as a “culture war” and we’re classed as extremists, bigots or far right for acknowledging the very same basic reality that she is: there are some rights needed for women & girls that are directly associated with our biology. Obviously, men who claim to be women don’t have the same endometriosis issues that Jacinta and millions of other women suffer through on a daily basis. There is one reason for that: they’re not women. It is also worth noting that, during Jacinta’s leadership, school girls were ignored whenever they pleaded for their own bathrooms, change rooms and sports, lesbian rights were further dismantled and at least one woman in a Victorian prison was sexually assaulted by a violent man, in her cell purely because he was claiming to be a woman. But, of course, Jacinta didn’t mention that.

I backed a motion calling on the Allan Labor Government to protect our flag from disrespect and desecration. Free speech matters but so does safeguarding the institutions that protect it. We must reject cultural vandalism and stand up for the values our flags represent!
