Our thoughts on this entire situation regarding Connor McDavid. Anyone that owns or runs a business knows that uncertainty is never a good thing for your business, the fact we sit here 21 days till Opening Night & Connor McDavid isn’t signed to a contract extension is not good for your business & it’s bad management that it’s gotten to this point. The uncertainty of Connor McDavid signing or not signing isn’t good. Ken Holland created a great culture & since he’s left that culture isn’t the same anymore. Connor McDavid knows it. Holland wasn’t treated right in his last year in Edmonton. When in the history of game has a GM taken his team to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, lost but then wasn’t brought back? Holland would have stayed on to see this through but someone in Edmonton didn’t respect Holland enough to keep him around. It’s pretty clear though that Connor McDavid is leaving after this interview & that’s a great thing for the NHL even better for the NHLPA because Connor McDavid should be & will be the first player in the history of the game to make $20M on an AAV & that’s not going to happen in Edmonton but it will happen on another team that’s setup better to win as soon as he joins that new team. There’s a good chance the new team McDavid signs with won’t have multiple players making $10M or more. He might be the only one. That will set him & that team up to win many The Stanley Cup No one knows more about the game than Connor McDavid & he knows you can’t win a Cup with 3 to 4 players making $10M or more. It’s never going to happen. Play this year out & move on. Even if the Oilers do win the Cup this year moving on is the best thing for his career & even growing the game. There will be better options come July 1st 2026. Being around Team Canada players & Coaches will/should play a factor in his decision to find a better home once he’s a UFA. The business him & his wife own here can still run even if he’s gone, it’s runs fine when they go to Toronto for 10 weeks straight in the summer time. If they want to put them up for sale people will come calling. The economy you think we have now is almost guaranteed to be materially worse than it looks. On the verge of reignited inflation pressures? Not a chance. Economic data has been plagued by massive downward benchmark revisions for YEARS. They never learn. We just got even more (reprehensible) confirmation of the same thing, that markets were right the entire time. The latest one comes from the Fed itself. Industrial output was just lowered by a HUGE amount. See for yourself. The worst offender is the production of consumer goods. That would seem to be a big one, don’t you think? If producers were in reality producing a lot less for consumers, that would further establish what those producers in the real economy really thought about the state of consumers and, by extension, jobs, incomes and everything that is important. The economy you think you see today is a lot worse. And since the economy that we think we see today is already looking pretty ugly, you see what I mean when I say the economy is getting more not less certain?

NEW: Video from source in Eagle Pass shows Border Patrol cutting through razor wire placed by the state of TX to allow migrants to enter & be processed after crossing illegally. Texas DPS tells me this is the first time they know of this happening, and that it’s being looked into for potential destruction of TX property. The federal government’s position is that once migrants are on U.S. soil, under U.S. law, they need to be processed, and cannot be repelled or turned away. Texas is taking a much different approach, and has been physically blocking migrants under orders from Governor Greg Abbott. TXDPS tells me the location this video was shot at is private property, and that they have permission from the owner to lay down razor wire and arrest migrants for criminal trespassing. This Border Patrol agent is likely just doing what he’s been told - but this will likely lead to more friction between TX & the Feds, who have drastically different approaches at the border.

My take on it all is the average Canadian is not that stupid, and they understand the importance of having economic ties with US and many countries around the world. To say that we're not going to do business with a country that, traditionally for over a hundred years bought 75% of our output, that's sheer stupidity. That has to be worked out, and to me, it's just a giant NAFTA 3 negotiation. If you think Trump doesn't like Pierre, well, then you want Pierre because he would be the stronger negotiator. But he's also conservative, so is the American government. It's not about one individual or another at the end of the day, and this is why Canadians, I think, are gonna figure this out in this election. It's about the policy, the policies of the countries. Is it pro-business? Is it pro-growth? Is it pro-energy? All of these things matter. Canada has fallen to the bottom through poor policy. Now, do you want more of that? Because that's what it sounds like you're getting if you vote for Carney. You get more. It's just Trudeau 2.0.

No, it's been a very strange weekend, I've been struggling, haven't been confident with myself, the car, and I knew there's a lot of pace in the car. Kimi been doing such an amazing job this weekend, but you know, by the end of qualifying, when you get those, you know, couple of sets of tyres underneath your belt and you can build that confidence, I felt good come Q3 and two laps for pole was nice. This place has been, hasn't been my friend in the years gone by, and of course, being on pole position is an amazing result, but this has been a track that has bitten me on numerous occasions in the past, so I'm not getting carried away with myself, to be honest. I'm really pleased, of course, of the car's performance. I think we're all quite surprised at McLaren's lack of performance because if I were to bet, I wouldn't have bet that we would have been more competitive than them this weekend, but of course the race is tomorrow, it's going to be tough, but I'm feeling good. #SingaporeGP #F1 #GeorgeRussell

This morning has been nothing but chaos in the chamber as the major parties play games as to what will be guillotined. They have been debating about what they are going to debate. Yes Minister on steroids. The fact around 40 bills are going to be rammed through the Senate with next to no oversight is just another example of how bad government accountability is. Unfortunately both the online safety bill and the RBA reforms are going to be guillotined. While many of you are aware of the Online Safety Act, the Government intends to give more independence to the RBA by taking away certain powers from the Treasurer that can direct them if necessary. This is an extremely important check on the RBAs power. As I pointed out previously the RBA take orders from the International Bank of Settlements who have caused more suffering on the human race than the taliban. Will keep you posted. #Auspol

The trip to Dallas has been full of emotions After two games in the heat yesterday, Jacob came out of the dugout sobbing. My heart is breaking for my kids. During today’s game, I asked the Lord to give Jacob strength, to let him compartmentalize the game and his grief. He and his nana were as thick as thieves and I wondered if telling him was the right move. He struggled batting today. His last at bat we needed one more run to end the game. He stepped up, swung, hit the ball almost effortlessly 350 feet over the wall. And as any good mother would do, I walked through the thorns and brush to find that ball. And sitting in the middle of the sidewalk, there it was 💜💜💜 Blessings in the pain, that’s the Lord 💜
