The point is: that is the BBC we miss! It has gone.

The BBC that we miss is already gone.

This is from decades ago. Not made anything funny in years

The irony is that this version of the BBC is already gone. They wouldn't dare commission this, Fawlty Towers or even Little Britain, because much like other public institutions it became captured by the 2020 George Floydian hysteria and hasn't realigned itself since.

The BBC hasn't been this good in decades. They've allowed the LGBTQ staff network to censor and obfuscate. It needs a massive overhaul and I think it's too little, too late.

I will buy a bottle of actual champagne (not prosecco or cava) the day that miserable self-adoring hellhole of liars, misogynists, Jew-haters, child abusers, rapists, & stupid smug twats like Hislop, Bowen & Simpson finally implodes.

Shares video of a long gone BBC... by posting a near thirty-year old promo. But of course he has!

Yeah sure.

I’ve already been missing this sort of hilarious nonsense for years. The BBC that produced this is no longer. We’d now get: Transsexuals on BMX bikes Mixed Race Wheelbarrow Challenge A Question of Women’s Sport (Enhanced Testosterone Players Only)

The BBC will NOT be missed. NOT ONE BIT.

I’ll miss that BBC not this BBC

1. This is old. Wish they were still making stuff like this. 2. More important, the objections to the BBC are to do with news and current affairs and opacity, not light entertainment production. Everyone just wants a better BBC.

Shows 20 year old footage. The BBC that people will miss died 10 years ago.

@SaucySeventies Reeves and Mortimer first appeared on Channel 4, not the BBC

Playing clips from 30 years ago isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.

Vic and Bob thrived on Channel 4 long before they came to the BBC. Back then all channels encouraged experimentation and risk. Those days are long gone. Look what passes for comedy on TV now.

It's already gone, this is how it used to be...Non woke!

If you need to go back 25 years to show how great it is…it’s already gone

My sides.

That was perhaps so ages ago, when the BBC weather report wasn't used to get us all brainwashed for the green moneymaking deal.

You cannot compare the BBC of old with shite it is today. Defund it.

We miss our country. Our country has been pissed away to foreigners who have invaded here. They have infiltrated the bbc and consequently the bbc is dying. We are missing our country, because it's almost gone. The BBC is just one symptom of this.

BBC covered for jimmy saville while he raped terminally ill children

I remember that ad, and thinking at the time how it showed the BBC's total lack of self-awareness. The BBC as it was then would never have taken the a risk on someone like Vic Reeves were he not already established. It was Channel 4 did that, then the BBC poached him.

Those were the days

It's already gone, we're just still paying for it.

Bloody hell how far have you gone to show a programme you think is good !?

What's bizarre about this old BBC promo is that Vic & Bob are pretty much taking the piss out of lazy, repetitious programming at that time. Strange choice.

This was when the @BBC didn’t run everything through the DEI DEPARTMENT! Now it does! Now we get shit like the mash report! I don’t think ill will miss it that much, they have canceled vic&bob so many times i can get them elsewhere now!

There’s definitely zero comedy on the BBC, that all disappeared at least 15-20 years ago, it’s just lefty crying nowadays.

We all miss the BBC from 20 years ago.

The BBC does have it faults, but it also has it's really good points, it's not perfect, but it should be protected so it can grow, it would be a sorry day when it's gone.

Keep the BBC, get rid of the politicos interference and talentless beauracrats, it'll be alright in creative and imaginative hands

Nah I've got all the good stuff on DVD. Funnily enough, none of it is from the past 15 years or so.

Probably not.
