SCORE MORE POINTS? I feel like during the recruiting process players and parents feel this immense pressure to score points bc they know that the more points they score the better chance they have to be seen. Scoring will increase your chance of being seen/talked about. That is a fact. But how you go about it will ultimately decide your future. Sadly, too many players and parents are pushing the scoring aspect and it makes the player play selfish basketball. If you out scoring ahead of winning and doing the things necessary to win (guarding, passing, rebounding, etc.), it doesn’t matter how many points you score. Selfish players eventually end up on selfish teams or sitting the bench on good teams. Lock in, play the right way, play hard, score the crap out of it, and you’ll be good.

Points aren’t the separator… Players are so consumed with how many points they average, and OBVIOUSLY points set the level… you need to be able to score it. But when you dive in to separating players that score the ball at the same rate… it’s about HOW they go about it. How are they impacting the game beyond the scoring? How are they getting their shots, and how many shots are they taking? If players focus on the how, their game becomes more well rounded and efficient 👍👍

Jax FORREST (USA) is a perplexing prospect to me. It’s like he just fumbles his way into scoring massive amounts of points - out of nowhere! His “feel” for the game is one of the best I’ve ever seen. There’s not many wrestlers who are more dangerous than Jax when it comes to scoring points. It comes so naturally to him. He beats Japan by 15-5 TF to advance to the U23 World Finals! 🤠

Olden Polynice says if Bam truly wanted to respect his idol Kobe Bryant, he wouldn’t have broken 81 points: “For Bam to say Kobe is his hero, but there is a video of him saying ‘don’t foul’, so I have to give him credit for that. If you really wanted to be respectful, sub your ass out the game. I would’ve respected him so much more if he tied the 81, and sat down. That would’ve been some gangster stuff. Now, that’s a tribute to your hero” Again, this is more of a KOBE BRYANT issue than Bam simply scoring 83 issue. (Via Byron Scott Fast Break)
