DJ Akademiks explains why he thinks Kendrick Lamar "took the fun out of music," saying he rarely gets excited about new releases nowadays: "I think Kendrick took the fun out of music. N***as just came in with a whole lot of like, all that woke bullsh*t. He's like that n***a who just f*cks up the party... He did f*ck up the game, I ain't gonna lie. It's not fun right now." "It's not like an event to listen to music anymore... Music is passive, I kinda blame streams a little bit for that."

Chromazz reflects on the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, calling Kendrick a "nerd" and questioning why Drake chose to respond in the first place: "I just think Kendrick's a wasteman... I have said that Drake shouldn't have did so many songs. He should've did like a one bar. I guess he's like an artist and he wants to, but I just feel like he has nothing to prove. Like, this guy's a loser. Why did you give him so much attention?" "I like the Drake songs better. I don't wanna listen to this nerd talk. He sounds like a nerd. Like, I'm not into it at all. Like, who wants to listen to that all day?" (Via No Jumper)

Young Thug compares Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s impact in hip hop: "I gotta say Drake, he did more, he put more people on and he got more numbers. Numbers-wise, statistically and impact on the culture and impact on the world...." "Kendrick got a huge impact he for sure number 1 in life he is the GOAT of the whole West Coast… well, I don't know, I'd probably say Nipsey, but numbers-wise Kendrick Lamar is the GOAT of the west coast."

Americans cannot survive with the cost of living being as high as it is “I am not even living, we are just surviving — what the f*ck is this world that we're living in” “Today was the day that I finally broke. I put the kids in the car, sent them with whatever f*cking snacks we had to school — brought the boys to school, and I got pulled over by a f*cking state trooper on the highway. And I'm telling you, like, I am so tired of being stuck in survival mode. Like, the trucks on ‘E’ it's like as soon as I have money it f*cking goes” “We need soap, we need toilet paper — it all just f*cking adds up and it's like it never f*cking ends.” “What the f*ck is this world that we're living in? Like I can't breathe. I really fucking can't breathe. I'm so overwhelmed and I just need things to f*cking get better and they're really not, they're just really f*cking not”

Lil Yatchy says he had a second Drake interview for "Safe Space" podcast that was supposed to come out right before the "civil war" started. "It was right before the Kendrick thing so we never put it out, it was really funny interview sitting in the middle of arena. The Drake one was our next and you know that thing happened and then things happened and then boom... I dont think it put me in a weird position(the beef), I was with Drake, so it wasn't like a limbo... I think it's a sticky situation that I realized it's beyond me, I tried to stay out of it for real."

Lupe Fiasco explains why he thinks that Nas doesn't rank highly among the best lyricists in hip-hop 👀 "Remove the beat, remove everything else and just go with the words. If you threw Nas into- and you just created the list of just people who rap... He wouldn't rank high. I wouldn't rank high. That doesn't mean we're not lyricists in our space." Martin Casado explains AI as a fundamentally new abstraction layer of computing: "I don't think in the history of computer science that I can recall have we ever abdicated actual reasoning or logic. It's always been a resource. It's been like compute, network, and storage..." "And then the human is putting in the high-level thing, and it's using the compute, network, and storage to calculate the answer." "But now I feel like you're actually abdicating thinking in a way, where you're like, 'Tell me the answer.' Like, 'I'm not even really sure what the question is.'" "This is the first time it feels like a different layer of the stack. Maybe this really is the next abstraction, which is more of a human-level abstraction, which doesn't map directly and so is actually different... You kind of pray to the model god in the right words, and then it produces the answer that just ends up being useful." martin_casado
