Speaking of high end audio…good morning! A little Workingman’s Dead to start off the day.

Your brother giving it a first listen

Such a great ad

That Technics rack system is not "high end audio".

Everything is relative broheim

It's only high end if you compare it to this. /vintage audio & high end audio guy here

You think Technics brand is high end?

Yeah I do. SUPER high end.

@JiMuise Well.... it's not.

@JiMuise The highest end. I doubt anyone can name a finer brand

@Magnus31110521 @JiMuise Jeff Rowland would like to have a word with you, Adam.

@Magnus31110521 @JiMuise Tell him to contact my openclaw assistant and schedule a call.

Yea that’s real hi-fi audio! 💪get me some marrantz or McIntosh tubes for like $50. Something like this I’m totally in. Thx. 🙏

@flores_ale31558 Warm sound 🤝

@flores_ale31558 McIntosh speakers are really good and overlooked

I’ve always liked these, Martin Logan’s They just look cool. Good 4 live recordings and rock band, symphony type music imo. But a little thin for the “bassy” Latin jazz or hip-hop I like. 👍

@flores_ale31558 electrostatics so somethings better than anything else - fried some Quad ESL’s back in the day ..

😩

That's not a "high-end" system 🤣...this is:

The 80s called. They want their CD player back!

I would have killed for this back in the 80s

You and me both man, that’s one sweet rig

"High end"? This is junk and priced as such.

I mean... he's listening to Clarity. Clearly your brother is a ball knower. Great pick up! 💪

He knows 👊🏼

My New Speakers just arrived on a lift gate truck...

👀

@OldRowSwig Boomer everything is going for pennies on the dollar. You can get some gems if you know what you're looking for. High quality furniture is a great deal right now, ditch your IKEA for some hardwood bookshelves and side tables.

I can still feel the shaking in my house when we were younger cuz we had big sounds systems like this. You could actually feel the base in your body, not just your ear drums. Real stereos don't fit in the palm of your hand.

These are regularly < $100 on eBay. Great sounding whole home audio that works with the newest Sonos software. Crazy good deal.

Got it for nothing with Yamaha 200Ma speakers, 30kg each

the old stuff is the best stuff

🤗

Yeah…I viewed this thinking, “Damn...that’s a good freaking deal” then I realized I GAVE AWAY my Pioneer multi component system and speakers 15 years ago. 🤦🏼

Nice! I love vintage stereos. Here’s my 1970s Marantz

Audio guy here: Hate to break it to you but this is not high end. An OK deal for $100 but not worth more than that. btw Technics has some amazing gear but also cheap low-end stuff. This is the latter.

This is not hi end. Technician is a Japanese low end stereo system. I think it’s made by Sony.

setup of a friend of mine

I gave my Rotel set away for free a few years ago 👀 Don't know what got into me, would love to hook it up again and add a proper vinyl player

dude, that stuff belongs in a dumpster. high end audio, my ass.

Laughs in audiophile…

That's not a high end system, it's just in great condition. It's a solid purchase for a retro enthusiast. Nice price. An audio enthusiast wouldn't give it a second glance; but for an obsessed retro collector, that's worth far more than $100.

Gangster. We live in the ruins of a once great society.

Fucking love technics. This is a fun era of kit.

15 year old me just fainted. That was as much as a used car when bought new Easily thousands of 1980-1990s money

I far prefer this. All new stereos want to hook up to apps and have wifi and blue tooth access. Hate it.

Was the same with 1980s "home computers", before they later soared in value by 20-100x once they were old enough to attract nostalgic buyers who are at the peak of their income cycle.

I'm surprised that you didn't play: Big John

Not anymore those rack systems are bringing bank 🏦
