The Oracle character was a completely useless mess! She was pointless and god awful in that role. Sadly they kept bringing her back with each movie. Just the worse !

It’s a romantic thought, for sure. But I don’t think the realisation really extends to real life. The matrix is a deterministic simulation, the oracle hints at that. In contrast, our universe isn’t deterministic, it’s quantum. So in a way, Neo both took and didn’t take the candy… until he did.
