A reminder that Scottish water, which is still publicly owned, has invested nearly 35% more per household in infrastructure since 2002 than the privatised English water companies and It charges users 14% less.

I’m surprised Fiona didn’t stop her talking after 7 seconds! Imagine, a left wing voice being able to actually say something and make a point on question time uninterrupted. Probably the first in my lifetime.

The water companies could afford to cut bills when they feared nationalisation... This April 2019 Times Business report says the three listed water companies had made "the largest cuts in customer bills since privatisation 30 years ago" through fear of Corbyn nationalising them.

Should have voted for Jeremy Corbyn, Britain. A lot of money has been lost and wasted.

The most important question to ask is why, if water is privatised, you can't choose who supplies it to you for the best price. That is not a market, it is a monopoly. @UKLabour @ThangamMP Scotland and Wales have both managed to afford to take water back in to public hands 🧐🧐

And @ThangamMP tried to tell us we must continue losing billions because it will be "too expensive" to bring the utilities into public ownership. I must remember to advise people to keep renting, because buying houses can be expensive, and all you end up with is an asset.

Thangam Debbonaire said it would cost too much money to take the water companies back into public ownership! This is WRONG! Given the level of sewage being dumped in our waterways why can't they be taken into public ownership as a punishment for simply failing their customers!

Helen Whately (Tory) smirking when the crowd jeers & boos Thangam Debbonaire (Labour) trying to explain Labour feels it would be far too expensive to buy back all their own infrastructure, which of course the Tories sold off to foreign corporations.

MP Helen Whately has been accused of “outrageous contempt” for constituents after refusing to answer questions about her £3,250-a-month rent expenses.
