Good Infielders understand what Pre-Game work is. They have an ability to read hops and Play High Level Catch in rhythm! They are working at game speed with intent!!

To play infield at a high level every rep must be with intent and at game speed!! That’s what the best in the world do! Yes very talented, the practice intent is at a high level as well. That is why they have the ability to make it look easy!! Practice intent translates!!

Pregame matters!! How you prepare before a game is a huge evaluation time for coaches/scouts. You may not get a ball hit to you during the game! Work with intent, at game speed and under control. Spoke to a college coach today, told me he stopped recruiting a player because his pregame was lazy. It translates!! You’re always being evaluated!!

Udonis Haslem on the Cavs: “I never seen a team with a chance to close out with less intent, focus, and intensity. They ain’t holding anyone accountable. Now you’re going back to Detroit for Game 7, what gonna happen now? You will be judged. Lose Game 7 and see what happens.”

Develop this mindset and you’ll tap into greatness.‼️ Game-speed reps. Sweat dripping. Intent behind everything. Set a standard for yourself. Walk into the gym with a plan, what you’re working on, and why you’re working on it. That’s how you separate yourself.

In this clip, RD Spiehs walks through the Sign-Set-Deliver drill during catch-play routines to train pitchers to vary holds and better control the running game. By treating every throw with intent, pitchers reinforce tempo, focus, and game-ready habits long before they ever step on the mound. This is a preview from the "Competing with Conviction on the Mound" full-length Barnstormers Clinic video, now available to ABCA members in the ABCA Video Library! Attention Intensity Intent It was interesting to watch Arne Slot talk about the importance of energy in his coaching practice. When I had the pleasure and honour of working with Arne at Feyenoord we used to talk a lot about helping players manage their energy - both physical and mental. Attention Intensity Intent In the model I use with coaches, intensity is mental energy. I used to talk to Arne a lot about players competing with an optimal level of mental energy (to complement the physical intensity that’s critical for the game). Arne being Arne - he was always open to my suggestions around managing and optimising energy. For me, in this video Arne is talking about the difference between ‘fun’ and ‘enjoyment’. Activities aren’t always ‘fun’ but players tend to enjoy difficult. They tend to enjoy the challenge. Sweat and smiles Sweat and smiles Sweat and smiles Challenging activities also tap attention and intent. Constraints and conditions appropriately set channel attention and a drive a high level of intent. Attention Intensity Intent Ultimately, when coaching actions related to the principles of play you want your players to exploit…do so with attention, intensity, and intent in mind… (Video found on ‘X’ posted by Football DNA - do follow them)

Relay races with the ball are a great way to bring SPEED into football training! Competition creates motivation, and motivation helps players express their speed with maximum intent.

As an Infielder You may never get a Ground ball in the Game! You’re always being evaluated! From how you play catch to how you approach pregame! The Majority of coaches and scouts are watching it all! Are you always in the right place? Are you directing traffic? Baseball Speed?
