You're driving into London in 1987. ⏳️

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Its depressing watching that, it'll never be that good ever again. A place of promise has been turned into an armpit of a shit hole...

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Wow, people only using the overtaking lanes for overtaking and moving to the inside lane when done and signalling when they do so. Those were the days.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain "You right-wingers are just nostalgic for something that never even existed"... yeah OK. 🙄

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Now the speed limit on the Westway is 30mph 🤦🤦🤦

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Look how many less cars there are

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain One year later and that would be me bombing around Central London and the East End in my Peugeot 205. Great times. So glad I got to do that before it was turned into car hating hell.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain A distant memory of better cars, a better British London population, and no racist Islamic mayor.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Beautiful little mk2 Scirocco 👌

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain My trip to England in the early 90s is still my favorite childhood memory. I cannot believe what you have done to your country. It saddens me deeply. And I’m just some random Norwegian kangaroo dude. Shame.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Halcyon days! I remember a rapid drive from Covent Garden to Harrow, 4 up, in a Triumph Herald, an obscenely quick time

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Free flowing traffic on the A501, real cars with personality. We must Restore Britain …

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Coming off the A40 into Euston/Marylebone Road.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain I’m out there somewhere with my mum and dad still alive and my whole life in front of me. What I would give to get in one of those cars and drive home.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Another sad thing is that it's now a stupid 30 mph limit on the Westway, and that's crazy when it's a wide open empty motorway.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Needs to show the Lucozade sign! Was the best

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain This is basically the same area a couple of years ago when I was driving into west London to work

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Westway driving out at sunset always looked good

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Mark II Scirocco in the first frame. What a cracking car that was. I had one for about 5 years in the early 90s. Brilliant.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain did it! don't remember any speed limits anywhere - NUTS!

@chloroquinecake @Lost___London @BygoneBritain Westbourne Park LT garage. I may well have been there that day!

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain A decade earlier, we made a last-minute flight at Heathrow, travelling from Reading down the M4. Journey-time: 40 minutes.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain A40 eventually ending up on Baker Street. Know it like the back of my hand

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Ahhhh, the red Renault 5 there. ❤️ It was a dream to drive back then, not so slow. Who's Sarah?

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain This actually made me tearful. Just reminded me of better times.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain An increase in England's population of 10 million people approximately since then supposedly. Thank you for sharing an interesting clip.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain 1987 needs some over it

Thank you for sharing this. I drove down to London so many times in the late 1980’s it’s brought back memories. It was a beautiful city in those days, vibrant and full of busy law abiding people. It was safe and clean and although I was always pleased to get back to rural Yorkshire I loved going. Now, nothing would induce me to visit London.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain This is how we used to drive. To hell with speed limits. Would drive Trafalgar Square to Richmond in 15 minutes some evenings. #RobinNowacki

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain You have to crawl along the Westway at 30 mph now, terrified of the average speed check cameras. Life used to feel more free back then, I miss it.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain 👏A40 Westway heading towards Central London. Passing the washing machine flats (Chantry and Hermes Points), Westbourne Park bus garage, Paddington Green nick (looks like the ABC Cinema opposite had closed by then) - forward across the Edgware Road junction towards Marylebone

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Oh, mate. Heaven. Clear roads, 70mph dual-carriage ways, AND THOSE MOTORS! Phwarr. 'Tinas, Escorts, Mark 1 Sciroccos, Mark 1 Supras. We'll leave the Renault 5 out of it though, eh.

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Now after raping Scotland of resources denying them of independence by scaremoungering and lies London today bottom pic before oil top pic

@chatswithem @Lost___London @BygoneBritain First 2 cars A renuault 5 and a VW scirocco

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain Westway used to be a wonderful drive in... foot down all the way to Edgware Road tube junction.... now its a crawl...

@Lost___London @BygoneBritain It was a multicultural hellhole even then. I lived in London in the late 70s and certain parts of it had already fallen. Southall comes to mind
