I disagree with you on this one. Investing in palliative care is the way forward, not commercialising a conveyor belt to death. The bill had zero safeguards against coercion, there is a reason it was rejected by every relevant professional body in the UK.

In a perfect world you should be allowed to die, but look at Canada & what they get upto. Can you imagine the NHS and a confuse old woman? "It would be so much easier for you pass on, think about your family & how much of a burden you are to them" Great now we another bed free.

Nope. Don't trust them. Your govt can't be trusted with these laws.

Sad but funny and equally true. But I’ll counter that: Canada now has assisted suicide called MAID, and even if you’re depressed, you can go in and have yourself killed by one of their machines with relatives present and very little paperwork or approvals. Depression is now a reason why you can kill yourself in Canada.

You shat the bed on this one. Look at Canada. You legalise this and then they start killing everyone. My mom is diabetic and her doctor asked her if she would like to plan MAID for when she retires so she doesn’t “burden the system”.

Obviously things can go wrong ethically… But the people that disagree with assisted dying are just lucky enough to have never been in that position. I’m sure if it ever happened to you your position would change.

You only have to look a Canada to see what could and can go wrong. Here in Switzerland they will do it if you pay. You have to push the button and you see 2 doctors over 2 weeks must be sane no profit for others and police are informed. Safety nets.

I understand peoples hesitation of giving government hospitals this power....however. I seen alot of people die of cancer. Its not a nice way to go especially if it moves to your chest (choking on your own breathing) and then to your brain as you become a husk. Good joke tho. 😅

Reverse of Canada. “Stubbed your toe? Have you considered the option of suicide?”

In light of the Liverpool Care Pathway they took liberties with killing people in hospital and in some, harvested their organs. They already use drivers anyway so.....
