Youโre telling me men without degrees, using nothing but hammers and chisels, built this?

No degrees is a modern misunderstanding. They had apprenticeships, journeymen and master masons. You trained for years before anyone called you a master, and you proved it with your hands, geometry and finished work. Their diploma was not hanging on a wall. The wall was the diploma. Eight hundred years later, itโs still standing. ๐๐ง๐บ๐ธ

The Vittoriano is one of many unbelievable structures in Rome

They definitely had โdegreesโ Thatโs actually where the entire โmastersโ things comes from. Literally, the โmasters degreeโ comes from medieval masonries who spent years honing their craft. Jfc you people are so dumb

What the fuck do degrees matter? They don't make you smarter

Started in the late 19th century, this building wasn't finished until the 1930s. The architect (Sacconi) most definitely had a degree and modern building methods were used in addition to traditional crafts. The depth of your research is most impressive.

But they did have degrees. A system of apprenticeships to Master craftsmen, engineers and architects existed. They worked their way up to Master status by achieving "degrees" as they advanced. Ever heard of the Masonic hierarchy?

This monument was completed in 1935. It was designed by an architect Sacconi.

Speaking on that The Rock of Cashel is also a historical site built by ancient people

Iโm starting to believe Christ had his 1000 year reign right after Jerusalem temple was crushed in 60 AD. Then he took the believers off earth, Satan was loosed and all hell on earth broke out mud floods, fires, migration, history was rewrote and here we are.

@TheGlobeIsDead Why do keep talking about degrees? ๐ You know thatโs all BS, right?

No, telling you that men who studied math, design, physics all their lives designed this and the skill of drafting which has led to todayโs engineering automation did that.

You think the people who built this had no training or qualifications?

It was built in 1911 by the Italian architect Giuseppe Sacconi, who studied at the Montani Institute (now ITT Montani) in Fermo?

This is Monument to Victor Emmanuel II, it was built in the late 1800s, they had degrees and advanced tools, not sure if this a bait or an ignorant post.

Is this from Africa? Where is this? @grok

lots of labor, high skill artists, you do not need fake degrees as today, you need good leadership, great artists and lots of labor, which was abundant at that time. There was much job to do, just agriculture, construction and some trades.

They had Degrees ... Just not fake and gay ones you guys have now

yes. scribe marks, calculations and other maker marks have been found countless times over the years among such ruined structures. Stop assuming our ancestors were morons.

Nobody told you that. Those men were educated for their entire life in guilds run by generations of master-craftsmen. Where do you think the name โmasters degreeโ comes from? So ignorant.

Youโve never heard of the degrees of masonry, I assume.

Maybe some uneducated people made it but Viteuvius writes in the 10 books of architecture that an architect without knowledge is doomed.

To learn architecture, math, physics, art, to have endless commissions, mastery, and collaborations between the different masters - no, that's not a degree, yes

***Note: they also didnโt have iPhones or short form video distracting them

A degree is just theory and a lot of reading and writing. None of that is needed here. This is all skill and creativity

How do you think they carved marble statues? They studied anatomy its not like they were working 9 to 5 in a day job at 7/11 then came home cooked dinner and built buildings in their spare time

Who told you that bullshit and why did you believe it? ๐ค

Itโs wasnโt built with chisels or hand tools. Not much of it anyway. Thatโs the Vittorio Emmanuel II Monument in Rome. I was completed by Mussolini with machines and advanced tools. Next!

Surely not wasting time getting a degree helped them focus on hammering and chiselling.

This is generational knowledge from masters to apprentices and guilds. Today our universities are mass producing fast talking fools. They couldnโt build an outhouse. Visit libraries that have the knowledge. Some of the most difficult math problems were developed long ago.

I heard so many negative comments from natives my wife and I decided to skip it.

Does everyone think an institutions piece of paper gives them knowledge? The builders of these building wouldโve studied and held apprenticeships that would dwarf modern standardsโฆ If you think they were uneducated youโre a moron.

Been there, insane how large it is in person

You realize this was built during "RECORDED" history... Right??? Right??? We know who built it, and when. 1885 - 1935 as a memorial to Victor Emmanuel II.

Umm, you know that this building, the Victor Emmanuel Monument was built in the 20th century right? Not exactly the Stone Age.

It was more of a union style hierarchy of skilled labor involving apprentices and journeymen
