Am I the only one who actually watched the movie? Spoiler alert: The horse is restored to life at the end of the film along with the rest of Fantasia. You're welcome.

I painted it and made a frame for it

I know this isn't a serious post, but the Neverending Story is my most cherished childhood movie of all time. Artax's death was an important lesson. Children in the 80s and 90s had media that unabashedly showed death, loss, and grief. Without struggles, trials, tribulations, conflict, and loss, the successes we have in life, and the strength we gain from the adversity we face become meaningless. I would not change a thing about that scene. "It has to hurt if it's to heal."

If that had happened, Gen X wouldn't be considered the bad asses they are today, but a bunch of weaklings.

It didn’t need to be fixed. It was a lesson that needed to be taught.

The horse dying was a symbol within the allegory of human imagination dying. Changing the story the with AI to save the horse is actually the same lack of creativity that caused the horses death.

Sure. Let’s go ahead and ruin the entire movie. While we are at it, why not just have the Gmork change his allegiance following a reasoned debate over a cup of hot tea?

"I don't want you to take away my pain I NEED my pain!" -Captain James T. Kirk, Star Trek V
This scene didn't affect me. I'd already watched Evil Dead at 7 years old

Too late. On the bright side, it helped produce a great sense of dark humor.

Without trauma there is no growth, and with no growth you get a generation of boring low IQ individuals who make real life traumatic! Don't touch my childhood yours isn't better!

Fix isn’t the word. It’s a participation trophy for film trauma. These moments taught me life lessons: You have to try. You will win and you will lose in life. Even when you win, there’s a cost. Fuck risk and cost free happy endings!

Fun fact in the book the horse can talk and is telling Atreyu that he doesn’t have the will to go on and to leave him

The pain is what made Gen X hard as nails. I veto, let Artax drown. He comes back at the end of the movie anyway FFS. I’m going to go watch Watership Down while eating pasta with a LOT of red sauce.

That’s for gen Z pussies.

Can someone post the original version?

I grew up on the books Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Growes. This is a child's movie where the horse got the sads and quit. We are not the same, LOL.

Trauma helps us grow as a person - when I was a kid and Optimus Prime died, I realized then that heroes don't always win, but it's what they do before that matters. It also traumatized me for a while, but as a grown up the trade off is 100% worth it

The satanic hollywood jews plant these evil core memories early to destroy the child's brain

Here comes the "Mandela effect, I remember the horse dying"

That was one of the saddest moments in cinema, thank you for this.

That’s It‼️You’re Doing Fine Artax‼️ Come On Artax, What’s The Matter⁉️ What’s Wrong⁉️Come On Boy‼️ I Understand, It’s Too Difficult For You‼️ Artax‼️You’re Sinking‼️Come On‼️ Turn Around‼️You Have Too‼️ NOW‼️COME ON‼️ARTAX‼️ Fight Against The Sadness, Artax‼️ Artax, Please‼️You Have To Try‼️ You Have To Care‼️ #SadnessIsJustGravityWithExtraSteps #FightIt‼️#Always‼️👨🏻🦯➡️🐴

Only reason to buy a movie and fix it yourself while selling it for others. Any Horror will be removed.

The lesson is that communism sucks the life and happiness from you. That is what the entire book is about. Don't be a filthy commie, brats.

@robbiehart21 You guys have to get over trauma from movies. It’s fiction. It’s not real.

Naw, we needed that tragedy and despair. It was essential for our emotional development. He lost the most important thing in his life and he kept on truckin, because gawddamit, somebody's gotta save the world.

Don't know why.\n People call this childhood trauma when it's literally nothing.

That's retarded. It ruins the lesson.

Wow. Does that feel hollow. This was like a Sociopathy emulator.

Ok... Now show us Bambi, walking away with his MOM😭

@crutterbeam 😘 miss you

Thanks a lot. I'd finally managed to totally forget about that.

everything about this is wrong!

Sweet. Now somebody give Old Yeller a rabies shot.
