YouTuber shoots himself with full auto 👀

I was at a club range once years ago, backstop created out of tires stacked and filled with sand. A shot from my 1911 did that, rebounded, hit me in the wrist. Hurt a bit, scared the shit right out of me

Yup - subsonic rounds will bounce off tires. It's literally in the range handbooks. yet folks continue to use them as backstops 🤦♂️

This was in the 90s, lesson learned for me.

shooting at water is crazy unsafe

that had nothing to do with this video though.

Saying he shot himself is a bit misleading. However if you want to say that he got hit with ricochet, or a ricocheted bullet, that might be a more accurate representation.

Even ricochets want to cleanse the world of "people" who film vertically.

Must’ve practiced with smaller calibers to build up his immunity, I’ve heard of this

I believe that’s called a ricochet

Rounds coming back like this don’t have enough energy to be a significant threat. Ask any competitions shooter, this happens all the time. As long as they’re not coming off of a solid barrier, they’re fine. Just wear eye-pro…

The relative slow heavy lead bullet of a .45 acp on steel is always a risk. They don't splash to dust, but bounce back.

Why you don't shoot metal

*improper metal (AR500 at the proper distance and angle is good)

I had the same thing happen with one of those little green propane tanks. The copper jacket separated and came back and broke the skin of my elbow. Humbled me for sure

Tannerite needs a high velocity round to detonate 🤔 45aarp is not

point to the "tannerite" in this video

A .22 ricocheted back when I was a kid, shooting an old empty gas canister. My father was stood next to me and it hit him square in the stomach, winding him.

Here you go, enjoy.

Shooting an old army helmet with a .22 caught a ricochet to the sternum. Left a black mark on my shirt and a red mark on my chest.

Might be the heaviest personal weapon I've ever held. Unreal heavy.

I had a ricochet 7.62x39 steel core off an oxy tank do the same thing. Hit me right on my upper lip. I wasnt even the one shooting. I could see it come right at me... felt like a hammer hitting my mouth. Lip was knumb for an hour and split my skin a bit. Lesson learned.

What stopped the bullet??

Meta glasses stopped bullet 1/4” away from camera lens.

I didn't realize those things were so durable. 🤔

Meh- don’t think they are that durable. Bullet was just going that slow.

Exactly. Eye balls are still softer than bullets at any speed that would hurt.

Wow. The chances of ricochet from all those trees, surprised he hasn’t shot himself.

Holy shit Dustin!

youtube is trash, move to rumble you zigged when you should have zagged

I used to shoot speed steel. One match a .45 bounced off a plate and hit me in the crotch about 1/2 inch from pay dirt. Hot lead is not just a saying. That thing stuck to my jeans and burned! The bruise was spectacular as well. Be careful out there!

"see mom? It hit my solar plexis not my eye!"

A buddy got a 45 ricochet in the kidney while shooting plates.

If he would have shot with these, this wouldn't have happened.

Almost looks like the same range as the ‘lawn-mower man’ did a self-amputation at.

Haha not fun

$lazi

hell ive taken worse from shooting shook up spray cans, those ball bearings will bust you open. works better if you put them in a brown bag and light it on fire..dont try this at home

I had a 5.56 round come back on me once. Hit me just above the vest on my collarbone. Fortunately it had already fragmented & expanded, but it still penetrated the skin slightly. Makes you really re-think your choice of eye protection on the range after that!

Love it.
