If you could only learn one thing that will be relevant for the next 10-20 years, focus on learning how to deal with data. The future is not about faster hardware, smarter algorithms, or better ideas. The future is about DATA, and those who know how to deal with it will stay relevant much longer than anyone else. I recorded a video to show you how easy it is to get started. In the video, I'm using Kestra. For a long time, I was a fan of AirFlow. Then, I moved to AWS Step Functions. Today, I only use Kestra. Kestra is open-source (repo link below) and kind enough to sponsor my work. The video will show you how easy it is to do the following: 1. Run Kestra locally (literally, one command) 2. Build a simple flow 3. Run Python scripts as part of your flow 4. Connect to HuggingFace models If you have never built a data pipeline, open Kestra's Quick Start Guide and follow their examples. (I think it will take you one weekend to feel comfortable with the application and build the courage you need to get into more serious work.)

Hi everyone! Just rolled out access for NoSpoon Studios to the first 110 folks or so. Huge thanks to Karan and Amit at Luma - thanks to them, I have a few more people that had commented getting complimentary beta access soon as well :). These videos are created with a single agent that does everything from concept to completion (including editing the video together). Therer are longer options too, but for the sake of cost and this demo, you'll be working with 20s max generations. The entire agent was built to only run Ray2 as the video model. My stack is this custom agent of mine (using OAI) > Ray2 for the video > Replit for the app for now. In the meantime, for those with access: here's a video tutorial on how to use the site. I'm quite exhausted, but here's the gist: 1. Sign up (and remember your password lol). Beta testers got free credits, but these are a bit limited - rolling out to a few more peeps but have to budget and need to expand my current code (which means redeploying - so expect more of you to have 2 free credits and access tmr! I have to find out the max I can allot with budget). 2. Just hit "generate short video" without anything in the prompt box and the agent will start immediately with the logline. Be very patient, wait about 6-8 minutes, and it will continue to output all of the scenes and processing - it's very important you do not refresh or navigate away from that tab at this time. You'll see your final video generated and displayed at the bottom of your screen once complete, along with a watermark (paid users don't have a watermark). You can also access your loglines and videos in your history tab, too :). You must refresh the page only after your generation in order to generate a new video - otherwise you'll lose your generation (annoying I know). 3. You can also input your own custom prompt! Control the story this way. Single words work great even, like "thriller" or "spy thriller set in greece" or even "black and white film noir" etc etc. It's not as great with animated styles yet for consistency, just a heads up. 4. Interesting times in the maps space, and its exciting there is so much buzz - maps are awesome :) My parents Rakesh and Rashmi Verma pioneered digital mapping in India in 1995, returning from the US after a successful career there with the passion and desire to do something unique for India. And it’s been 20 years for me personally in the mapping space, since I was a 19-year old Stanford engineering undergraduate student and got involved in starting India’s first interactive mapping portal, I realise MapmyIndia is a relatively lesser known company amidst more consumer facing global and local players, so it would be great if this post can be amplified, so that more people can be made aware 🙏 Warm regards, Rohan Verma CEO & ED, MapmyIndia *** A few thoughts on maps: 1) Accuracy and quality of maps is critical. Brian Preston and Bo Hanson on when financial advisors actually make sense: Asked whether anyone should hire a financial advisor if investing is "really as simple as just buying an index fund consistently," they push back on the framing itself. "Buying an index fund is just one part of the financial planning process. It's the investment part." They're quick to admit that most people don't need to pay a professional: "We don't think that everyone needs a financial advisor with all the information out there on podcasts and YouTube channels and books and blogs. There's so much great free information out there that a lot of people can self-manage for a long time." So when does hiring an advisor actually make sense? They break it down into three specific scenarios: 1. The gravity of your decisions becomes uncomfortable. "If I make a 10% mistake on $10,000, it's not going to change my life. If I make a 10% mistake on a million dollars, well, now I'm starting to impact my livelihood. Now, that might be more than I save in a year, more than I make in a year." 2. Your life becomes financially complicated. "You used to have a two-page tax return and now you have a 100-page tax return or you might have options and RSUs and ESP or you are wondering about what your estate documents should look like… You're an expert in your field in your vocation but you don't know all the financial planning stuff." 3. You have the smarts but not the time. "Maybe you're super super smart and you can do it on your own. And the complexity doesn't even really frighten you, but what you found is you just don't have time to put the energy and effort and attention into it that you would like to. With an intuitive menu similar to the GTA Online map editor, but a thousand times more advanced, you’ll be able to: • Redesign the entire map: change street layouts, create new neighborhoods, raise or lower terrain, add bridges, tunnels and even artificial islands. • Customize the aesthetics: choose the architectural style (neon 80s, cyberpunk, modern realism, tropical decay, etc.), dominant colors, type of vegetation and even the predominant climate of your city. • Define the economy and crime: decide which companies will dominate (crypto firms, casinos, illegal synthetic drug factories), the level of police corruption, gas prices and even the crime rate in each district. • Create custom missions: build parallel stories that only happen in your city, with NPCs you edit yourself (appearance, dialogues, daily routines). • Share online: publish your city on the GTA 6 Hub and let other players enter it as a multiplayer world or download it as an official mod. I'm convinced that there is one skill that separates truly intelligent people from those that aren't: Listening. This concept of "being a recorder" by Rick Rubin explains it perfectly. In less than a minute, Rubin provides 4 simple steps that, if followed, will change how you think about your interactions with others. Step 1: "It starts with coming in blank. Not having any preconceived ideas, being open, and really listening. Not thinking about what you're going to say next or what your opinion is." Step 2: "Basically being a recorder. Just hearing what comes in. Processing that information and trying to do our best to do that without any of the beliefs we might have to impact what that is." I'm convinced that there is one skill that separates truly intelligent people from those that aren't: Listening. This concept of "being a recorder" by Rick Rubin explains it perfectly. In less than a minute, Rubin provides 4 simple steps that, if followed, will change how you think about your interactions with others. Step 1: "It starts with coming in blank. Set up a structure where you have the peace of mind and the bandwidth to do art. 6. The ultimate goal of note-taking is to improve your ideas. Too many people treat note-taking as an end in itself. Organize your ideas by topic, not by source. As you browse your note-taking system, consider the serendipity you want to create for your future self. Like a good investment, the benefits of your note-taking system should compound in value. Save ideas that will stay relevant for many years. Read the classics, skip the news. 10. Tiago publicly tested every idea in his book. For most, the internet is a blackhole of distraction. But it can instead be used as a place to do low-stakes experiments before you go all in. 11. The more expensive the location for a writer's retreat, the more it forces you to be productive. 12. Thank you to all who joined us in Brewer yesterday to fight to stop this senseless war. Full remarks and video below. ********* First, I want to say thank you to Food and Medicine for having me. The work of Food and Medicine, the Eastern Maine Labor Council, quite frankly, has really kept organizing alive and as part of the state for a long time. And if you have the time and the energy to get involved, I highly recommend that you do. I also just want to give a hearty thank you to everyone who's joined us here today. It means a lot and it also shows that this is, whether it's mothers, whether it's veterans, whether it's people just running for political office and part of our main community, nobody wants this war. Absolutely no one thinks that this is a good idea. And the reason why they don't want it is because they know what it's actually about. This is a war that's being pushed by Benjamin Netanyahu. He's been trying to make this war happen for almost 30 years. This is a war that's being pushed by the Saudis, who have also wanted this war to happen. Two nations that are happy to watch American blood be expended on their behalf. This war is also being pushed because Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. And other people in the White House, and other people connected with the Epstein class. They are terrified that we have noticed what they are doing. They are terrified that we're going to start wondering why the hell we let them stay in power. And to do that, they're going to do the oldest trick in the book. They're going to try to just start a war to distract all of us. They are willing to sacrifice the lives of young American men and women and the lives of Iranian civilians simply to protect their political interests. I cannot think of a more reprehensible act. I cannot think of a more unpatriotic act, of a more un-American act, than to send our sons and daughters off to die, to kill, to bring immense violence to innocent civilians abroad simply because you're afraid you might lose the midterms. It is disgusting. As reprehensible as it is, it's also important to remember that this situation we find ourselves in is only possible because we have had a Congress that for decades has abdicated its responsibility, its constitutional responsibility, in making war. We need to rescind the 2001 Authorization of Use of Military Force. Its vague language and lack of clarity has been abused by multiple administrations of both parties to carry out wars in the name of the military-industrial complex and those in power, to carry out military operations that did absolutely nothing to keep Americans safe, but made some people very, very wealthy and protected the political interests of those in power. It needs to go. But not only does it need to go, we need a war powers resolution that actually claws power back from the executive branch. The resolutions that are on the table, I highly recommend you call your elected officials and put pressure on them to vote for them. They are necessary, but they are not sufficient. We need a truly reformed War Powers Act, where we really pull the power back. No more 48 hours of combat operations where you have to notify Congress. No more 60 days of combat operations before you have to prove to Congress that you should have gone to war in the first place. No. We need to know why military force is used right off the bat. And it needs to be approved by Congress right off the bat. The Constitution is clear about who is supposed to have the power of waging war in this country. It is the body that is most representative of the American people because it is the American people who have to bear the brunt of combat. It is the American people who are asked to make the sacrifice. It is American families who have to bury their dead sons and daughters. It is American friends who have to watch their best friends come home from a war and struggle for years with physical and mental trauma.
