17-Year-Old Adelia Petrosyan Crowned Champion, Winning Back-To-Back Russian Figure Skating Championships 🇦🇲 ➖➖➖ 17-year-old Russian-Armenian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan has won the title of Russian Champion for the second year in a row following an outstanding performance at the 2025 Russian Figure Skating Championships in Omsk, Russia, once again showing her dominance in women’s single skating. The Senior Championships were held in Omsk from December 18 to 22, 2024. Now a two-time Russian champion, Petrosyan scored an impressive 262.92 points across the short and free programs, a remarkable improvement from last year’s winning score of 246.53 points, where she also secured the same title. Daria Sadkova earned the silver medal with 234.69 points, while Alina Gorbacheva rounded out the podium in third place, scoring 223.92 points. A Nerve-Wracking Victory She admitted to being nervous before her free skate, saying: “I thought I was going to die… My legs were shaking, I was very worried.” She revealed that messages of support from her coaches, mother, and grandmother played a crucial role in helping her gather her strength. “I think I prayed five times. When I went out on the ice, I thought I would relax, but I started to get more nervous. I looked at the audience, calmed down a bit, and after the triple Axel, I said to myself, ‘It turned out well, do it again,’” Petrosyan said. Her perseverance paid off as she delivered flawless performances in both programs, solidifying her status as one of the brightest talents in Russian figure skating. Expert Praise Petrosyan trains under the guidance of renowned Russian figure skating coach Eteri Tutberidze, whose expertise has shaped numerous champions and further propelled Adelia’s promising career. Two-time Olympic champion and current coach Evgeni Plushenko praised Petrosyan, calling her the best in Russia while also acknowledging the unpredictability of women’s figure skating. Plushenko told RIA Novosti: “Adelia skates very beautifully, and her technical component is also at a good level. Today she is undoubtedly the strongest figure skater in Russia, but when it comes to women, surprises cannot be ruled out.” Gratitude and Triumph Following her victory, Petrosyan expressed gratitude to her coaches, parents, fans, and the Russian Figure Skating Federation for their unwavering support. “I’m extremely happy because I’ve achieved my goal,” she said, adding that the win was a collective effort of everyone who stood by her side. The Road Ahead In related news, the International Skating Union (ISU) has announced that Russian figure skaters will be allowed to participate as neutrals in the 2026 Olympic Games selection process. This decision provides an opportunity for Petrosyan and her peers to showcase their talents on the global stage despite ongoing restrictions. As Petrosyan continues to break records and inspire with her resilience and skill, all eyes will be on her as she aims for even greater achievements in the years to come. #AdeliaPetrosyan #FigureSkating #RussianChampionship #TripleAxel

I’ve had a neighbor that always got mad when our shrubs would grow out and touch her fence. She demanded that we trimmed them like the shrub touching the fence would damage it somehow. It was funny at first for her to do that but I seriously think she might just have been lonely and wanted an excuse to interact. I would try to keep up on it just so I wouldn’t be bothered by her at all hours of the day. This woman didn’t like how this man’s grass touched her fence and would reach over to pull it out. Her husband keeps telling her to come inside yet she refuses and even goes as far as to claim the man is harassing her. Is he bothering her though? I do think it’s funny he puts his feet by her to her dismay. At least she stayed on her side of the fence. My neighbor would come and pound on my door and wake me up during the day sometimes when I’m trying to get a nap. She would demand I trim my plant that is touching the fence because she claims it would eventually push on the fence and cause it to go crooked. I always thought she was being irrational in thought. The shrubs don’t grow fast enough to cause that kind of pressure to do so yet she always insisted they did. She ended up getting too elderly to stay at the home by her self and I kind of felt a sigh of relief when her daughter put her in a nursing home. They ended up selling the house and the new neighbors never even bothered me about the issue.
