Yung Lean smashed it at the VMAs 🏆💥 Literally. He opened “Storm II” by sending a Moonman straight into the floor.

The choreography is just perfect. Well done to those boys for nailing it

I hate that this performance makes me cringe because of all the ai slop copies of it lately, because realistically it’s awesome

That is an extraordinary piece of choreography.

You see the big difference between human choreography and AI… this is unmatched and always has been

The choreography is actually a bit mesmerising, I love it

It's crazy this didn't win video of the year and dance of the year

Smashing a Moonman to open a set is the exact kind of beautiful chaos we needed this year.

I love the choreography! Seems the woke stage did not allow him to smoke his cigarette, so they gave him a lame ass icecream to lick😅 We're living in a society where youth rebellion is staged. 🖕🏽

Bring back Kyoto Lean. Real ones know.

This is a beautiful human synergy of art. Absolute supporting this type of performance🙂↕️🎉

The irony of smashing the Moonman is that he'd rather give a decade of his life just to be there. The vain hypocrisy of it all.

Bitches come and go, brah But you know I stay He has come a long way🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

nobody watched the vmas...they caught up via X

The whole thing was lip synced.

He didn't. The dancers did because they actually performed.

So, What Exactly Is This Dance Everyone Is Doing? One person walks into a crowd, stands there like they've suddenly forgotten what they're doing, and then everybody around them starts moving in sync. And you're just there thinking: Wait, what exactly am I watching? Well, it's the STORM trend. The whole thing comes from a performance by Yung Lean and GENER8ION called STORM II. The original is an actual choreographed performance, not AI. The interesting part is the choreography. One person stays relatively still while the people around them move together, creating this strange wave-like effect. It looks less like a normal dance and more like the crowd has suddenly come alive. Then the internet did what the internet does. People started recreating the format, putting different people and characters into it, and eventually AI versions started popping up everywhere. And that little chant you've probably been hearing as “lie to them, tea fire”? 😂 You're not completely imagining things. You're hearing lyrics from the song, including the repeated “hey, hey, hey” and lines from STORM II. So, no, there isn't some secret ritual you've somehow missed. It's basically a very serious piece of choreography that the internet discovered was incredibly funny and memeable. One person stands still. Everybody else loses their minds. And somehow, we all keep watching.

the irony , he isnt doing anything. its all the boys that carry the performance.

I really love talented and creative ppl doing shit, it makes life more bearable

not sure who this is but the guy can't sing

Worst lip sync in VMA history. Do kids today even know artists used to perform live, and it was actually shameful to be caught faking it? 🤡

Whatever this garbage is it’s corny, it’s not entertaining and there’s truly no talent being displayed. Whole generation of participation trophy recipients being glorified.

@AutismBookClub We are so back

Choreography was great. Expecting performers to move their limbs and their vocal cords at the exact same time is clearly asking for the MOON. Who cares if the audio track is doing 100% of the heavy lifting while he can't even mime properly? This is supposed to be music awards

@studiopixie This imagery by Yung Lean always reminds me of SHAPESHIFT by DELS, 2010 @bigdadarecords & HUMBLE by @kendricklamar, 2017. Verse 2 confirms it was not just a visual homage/reference & DAMN/#NotLikeUs has a deeper meaning. Stay woke.

He did good by bringing the lads to the VMA stage

The choreography is just too perfect mehn

you call this "music"?

GENER8ION and Yung Lean at the VMAs proved that music today needs visuals. What they did with Damien Jalet was pure contemporary art on live TV. Real human talent beating AI.

Should have tossed the ice cream cone instead and lit up.

Hes so big yet i feel like i could ask 50 ppl on the street if they kno him and theyd all be like who

как же это охуенно
