Yuri!!! on Ice (2016)

One of the greatest betrayal in anime was the movie sequel to be canceled

Movie getting cancelled, not having the seasom 2 despite the 'see you next level' in the end credits of the last ep 🤧. Clearly, there's a plan of s2 (given how the story ended), but mf MAPPA cancelled everything.

Using a real announcer to voice Morooka and not an actor really added so much to these scenes... I love his energy and enthusiasm... and having other figure skaters commentate as well. Dub watchers really miss out on this one.

This is the best sports anime, fight me.

I remember social media EXPLODING over the kiss and people drawing over the frame arguing whether it was a kiss or not yoi was and is PEAK

i genuinely think it was so homophobic for mappa to cancel the sequel movie given how successful this anime is… hell I didn’t even like anime when this came out but i was intrigued by the yaoi so i watched it
