prepackaged hot dogs are, at a minimum, processed similar to how milk is pasteurized so that they are safe to eat raw

technically hotdogs are already cooked, they just taste better if you cook them again. ive seen survivalists eat "uncooked" sausages before and it was totally fine.

the industrial package ones are fine to eat without heating them. It is the artisanal ones (grinded good quality meat cuts which you can see small pieces of meat) that are raw
