This would be a great time for John Anderson to make a donation to the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation. And the Golden Knights Game 4 would be a great opportunity for @ESPN to do a story on Zach's heritage paving the way in the NHL.

My grandson and I had the fortunate opportunity of meeting this wonderful individual. He’s my grandson’s favorite player.

Zach is almost in tears at the end of this. I know he’s being super forgiving and using this to the best of his ability to bring awareness but the fact that he’s almost in tears over it doesn’t sit right with me and what was said, even with the apology and Zach “acceptance.”

Hey Zach, I thank your parents and your grandparents, for they raised you well, for your actions here make you an exceptional role model and ambassador for all Indigenous, Metis and Inuit people of Turtle Island, thank you and much Respect.

It’s unfortunate that this happened to someone of heritage like this. But overall making fun of someone’s last name on national television in general is a bad move. Whether or not he understood the significance of the name, he was wrong to make fun of anyone’s name.

Thanks for sharing this. 🧡

Love you, Zach. Proud to wear your name on my gold jersey. So glad you're on our team.

You can really tell the impact this has had on him and the way he’s handling it says a lot about his character. He is not obligated for accept John’s apology. Put aside being an Oilers fan, as a human, this hurts my heart to see him hurting like this. We need to be better.

Everyone should wear Whitecloud jersey or shirt (if you own one ) at the next home game

Such a good man. Zach has gone through so much to be where he is today. As a Native American myself I know exactly how he feels. Keep your head up Zach we’ve got your back.
