The adorable foal became an orphan shortly after birth when its biological mother sadly passed away. Determined not to let the little one grow up without a mother's love, the veterinary team performed a grafting procedure to introduce the foal to another mare—a gentle, experienced mother with an excellent history of raising foals. 💗✨ At first, the mare reacted strongly, calling out and refusing to accept the foal. However, after about an hour, her maternal instincts began to take over. She gradually accepted the little one and soon treated it as if it were her own. With the help of milk replacer during the first two weeks, the mare's milk supply was fully established. From then on, the foal was able to nurse happily, and the pair formed a close bond before returning to the farm together, safe, healthy, and happy.

This man was tired of having to painstakingly drain his pool after a huge rain storm.he went to his garage and created his own solution to the people’s. He used pvc pipes and carefully measured the pipes that enter the water, making them just long enough to siphon the water and then lose suction and stop when the appropriate amount of water was removed. He wanted to market an actual product like this for other pool owners who would be interested. Is this concept ready for the Shark Tank, what do you think?

Hedgehogs are solitary animals so are silent - they have no need to communicate so don't have a 'vocabulary'. Even when in pain or fear they usually suffer in silence. The only time you'll really hear them vocalise is this time of year - mating season. And it's only the girls who talk.😁 The male approaches the female and circles her, trying to mount. The female turns to face him, keeping her nether regions out of his reach, and makes a chuff-chuff sound, telling him she's not interested. She'll keep this up for hours, sometimes days, until she whittles down which of her suitors is the strongest, has the most endurance and energy, is the fittest and healthiest and most determined. She wants only the very best to be the father of her precious children. Only when he's proved himself to be worthy, does the female crouch down and lay her spines flat, and allow him to mate. Inexperienced males often need to use their mouth to hold on and get into position, so this time of year you may see females with a small wound on their back. There can be more than one winner, and she'll allow other males who have made the grade to mate with her also. So the resulting litter can be hoglets with several different fathers, producing a truly diverse and healthy gene pool. This genetic diversity within a population allows it to adapt to changing environments and resist diseases. Just one of the reasons our humble little hedgehog has survived for over 15 million years!

A 2-day-old foal bouncing with excitement to see her mom 🐎💞 I watched this video and found it so adorable 🥰 It’s just a little filly, only two days old, named Miss Tehya. They were leading her out of the barn. And yet her legs kept bouncing, her head stretched forward as if she was about to meet someone very important. She wanted to run to her mom. Her legs were still clumsy, her steps unsteady, but you could clearly see how happy she was. It was as if the only thing worth doing at that moment was getting closer to her mother. Foals can usually stand up and follow their mothers just a few hours after birth. That’s an instinct that keeps them from being left behind. But watching Miss Tehya, it didn’t feel like just instinct. It felt more like a little child eagerly running toward the person she trusts the most. Miss Tehya was born at a rescue farm and is being raised safely. But while watching the video, I didn’t think much about that. I just saw a baby horse happy to be with her mom, and it made my heart feel a little lighter. For people who raise horses, this moment probably means even more. It reminds us that the bond between a mare and her foal starts very early, and that keeping them close from the very beginning really matters. Just a two-day-old foal, bouncing along toward her mother. But it was enough to make me smile ☺️

It was a nice change having our vet call ME on the weekend for once - this time looking for someone to take on an orphaned foal whose dam sadly passed and her nurse mare had rejected her. There are a lot of people behind this little filly’s story. Her breeder made the hard call to give her a chance instead of euthanizing. And the nurse mare’s amazing owners poured themselves into trying to save her, all while grieving the loss of their own foals. At a certain point, they knew they were exhausted and didn’t have the ideal setup or time to give her what she needs, and selflessly chose what was best for her, not what was easiest for them. They didn’t hand her off lightly, and they wouldnt’t hand her to just anyone - which makes their trust mean that much more. Between two bottle calves and a bottle lamb, we figured… what’s one more? Trifecta achieved. This sweet little Appendix filly is settling in well. She’s going to take a lot of time and work, but we’re grateful for the opportunity to give her a place where she can grow, thrive, and just be a horse. Why Can a Dog Adopt the Young of Another Species? 🦁💓 A lioness gave birth to two cubs but did not care for them. The two lion cubs quickly became weak, leaving the park staff with no choice but to find another mother who could nurse them. The one chosen was Sandra, an eight-year-old German Shepherd who had recently given birth. Sandra had milk and was caring for her own puppy. What happened next was remarkable. When the two lion cubs were brought to her, Sandra accepted them and allowed them to nurse alongside her own puppy. It is hard not to smile at the sight. A dog lies down while three young animals press close to her body: one puppy and two lion cubs. But what made Sandra accept young animals from another species? Part of the answer lies in the timing. Sandra had just given birth, her body was producing milk, and behaviours such as staying close to her young, grooming them, keeping them warm and nursing them were already taking place naturally. Hormonal changes after giving birth also help promote maternal care in mother dogs. In other words, Sandra was at exactly the stage of life when caring for small, dependent animals had become a natural part of her daily life. The two lion cubs were also showing clear signs of young animals in need of care. They were small and weak, needed warmth and milk, and then sought out Sandra’s body to nurse. To us, a dog and a lion are two very different species. But maternal behaviour in animals does not necessarily begin with deciding, “This is a dog” or “This is a lion”. In this situation, what Sandra encountered were young animals seeking care. Researchers have recorded mothers nursing young that are not their own in many mammalian species. ( one of the reasons they are poached by the Chinese cos it’s believed it will help amapipi abo anesiyezi) When a female is in estrus, a male may guard her for 1–3 days. Between those days, female Rhino won’t just give it away, first it will resist cos it has to test the strength of its suitor first. Once she satisfies herself that the partner is strong enough, then she happily gives her coochie. During this period, they may mate multiple times, with each copulation lasting from several minutes up to an hour depending on the species. The reasons she first resists is to test the future Baby Dad’s strength, she has to be assured that he is strong enough to protect the family that are about to start. You will remember that these species do not mate for fun . They only mate to populate 🦏
