🚀 Zed v1.12 is out! The Git Panel now has an option to group changes into separate Staged and Unstaged sections. Clicking an entry in either group opens the corresponding Staged Changes or Unstaged Changes multibuffer. Thanks chirivelli!

The File Finder and Text Finder now support multi-select. Use `cmd`-click on macOS, `ctrl`-click on Linux and Windows, or `tab` to select multiple items, then press `enter` to open them all. Thanks ypatodkar!

CSV previews now have initial support for filtering rows by matching exact values present in one or more columns. Thanks HalavicH!

Please add button to refresh on the git panel as sometimes it gets stale and doesn't reflect the actual status of the repository. It is happening a lot lately after 1.10, same on the files panel. Thanks for amazing work

❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

Can u tell them to make Staged and Unstaged collapsible? And make sure it persistent when there is new changes cuz in vscode they can do that, but they keep expand the damn Staged even though I already collapse it. Thank!

Please fix your memory usage . It takes 16 GB of memory while running. I can run 20+ nvim setup in that much memory, no issue . I really loved the editor itself, the ways I was easily able to switch from my nvim setup to it , change settings and keymaps.

I think it’s time to address the memory thing. The initial posts comparing vscode and zed in the activity monitor will start becoming memes 🙏

Finally I wrote a post once in Reddit saying that vscode has the perfect git panel and many liked the idea good to see zed implement that

Finally! 💪

Would be awesome if undo git commit also refresh the changed files list. So after undo commit action, not only commit message will return, but also all files that was in that commit, also selected.

Finally! Been waiting for this for a while. 👏

Yippie!

Please allow split agents threads in the same screen

When adding Claude Codes rewind function? Last step for me to switch.

Cool feature

Can I ask, what do you recommend when working with agents via ACP and using git work trees ? Seems the two fight a little depending on how you set it up

small Git workflow improvements like this can make a big difference over a full day of coding. Separating staged and unstaged changes sounds simple, but very useful.

Arreglen el problema de los cambios bo sincronizados de git, vuelvo a cursor mientras tanto

finally!!

I found clicking on the checkboxes is a lot slower compare to the tracked and untracked filters. Like the rendering was blocking by backend compute which group each file should go or something

For me the "space" shortcut does not work, it add space inside the file editor

woaaa, thats the feature i'm waiting for!

Sick

why can't i see full file diff? It was there before.

LLM Provider I hope to optimize the layout of the configuration page, but it is too difficult to use. The modules configured for each model are not clearly separated, and there are also customized ones, which is very annoying. Setting.json cannot define the configuration apikey by itself. It can only be configured on the interface. The level is too deep, but this AI function is very commonly used, so it is indescribably difficult to use.

Great release! I will finally switch back to Zed again! Please add an enhancement to make the staged and unstaged panels to be collapsible and remain that way until manually expanding them. like vs code.

i need to work with java - springboot ecosystem. with zed, can i work without issues?

How can we configure it so that clicking a file in the Unstaged area shows only the unstaged changes, and clicking the same file in the Staged area shows only the staged changes?

I’d love json folding

One of the features that was genuinely still making me switch back to VSCode just to view unstaged changes and commit them. Now I just need the ability to view single file diffs instead of the unified view and I will be uninstalling VSCode.

@claudeai please create a extension for zed like you did for Vscode
