#PursuitOfJade Ep 27 will definitely remain a favourite of mine. While Chang Yu's anger toward Xie Zheng was completely justified, he came clean and genuinely groveled. I loved that he proposed again- this time as his true self, with nothing hidden. I know some might wonder why Chang Yu forgave him so quickly. Here's why: regardless of his name or title, Xie Zheng has always been sincere in how he treated her. Deep down, she knew that the bond they shared- every high and low- was him, through and through. That title was never a privilege; it was a burden. And his hesitation to tell her came from knowing, as this episode made clear, that it would become her burden too. I also appreciated that he considered asking his mentor to make her a goddaughter. You have to understand the social hierarchy of that era- nobility rarely married commoners. Concubines, yes. Official wives, no. He didn't care about any of that, but he understood that she might. And she did- right up until they physically fought it out and had that raw, honest conversation by the river. And then came that moment- when he spoke of how fondly he remembered his time in Lin'an with her, how happy it made him. That truly reached her. Because what mattered most to Chang Yu was that he loved her home and her people the way she did. (my tears fell here too 🥹) This is why this show has been so consistently good from the start. The characters always have these gentle, meaningful conversations. It's okay to get angry- but in the end, what matters is that you talk it through.

I remember when I was young, around 10-11 years old. My parents were both asleep as was my brother. I heard a knock on the back door which was weird because who uses the back door at a stranger’s house? The kitchen window was close by so I take a look. It looked like a teenager but hard to tell because they had a hoodie with the hood up. I didn’t open the door but I did crack the window and asked them what they wanted. They replied they were lost and wanted to come in to warm up and use the phone. Even when it’s daylight I know never to let anybody in period that I didn’t know, but a stranger after midnight was weird enough. I said no because I didn’t know them. Then they said that hey knew my dad and that’s why he came by. I said that’s fine and all but I’m not letting you use our phone. This was before cellphones were widely used, we had a landline like most people. The person wouldn’t take no for an answer and I could sense he was getting angry. I went and woke up my dad, I told him there was somebody at the back door and that he said they knew him. He walked to the door and looked out and said he didn’t know him. But he did talk through the door and told him that he was calling the police and that he should just leave. The person just stood there until the police finally came and even they asked him what he was doing knocking on the door at that hour. He told them he was lost and thought this was a house of a family friend. The police told him my dad didn’t know him and made him leave. So was this a case of wrong house or was he up to something. It makes me still wonder to this day but I’m still glad I never opened the door.

Then after we finished savory dishes, we ordered desserts just like we normally did. But suddenly a cake was served by 3-4 staff with a musician uncle guy playing music instrument for my birthday. I’ve no idea how he made a deal with them. Yeah, so we did the happy birthday wishes together already, had the cake together deliciously. The cake tasted so sweet, looking very good. HENRY OKOYE BREAKS SILENCE‼️ He said that during the formation stage of PSquare, he was the one that sponsored PSquare & also supported by being present. He said that during those years when PSquare was was struggling to make it, Jude was nowhere to be found. All of a sudden when they made it, Jude came back & requested to become their manager. He said that initially Paul was a good person (the kindest of them) but he doesn’t know what happened & he automatically changed. He alleged that the sudden change in behavior of Paul was not normal & that Jude was probably responsible. He said that when things got better, PSquare tried to pay him the 20% they promised him but Jude stopped them. And that if he needed anything from the twins he sponsored, they would ask him to go and meet Jude. We can all see that Mr. P(Peter Okoye) never lied.
