I agree 100% with Zelenskyy here. No more Budapest Memorandums… No more Angela Merkel Minsk psycho-babble BS, no more Jake Sullivan and Biden half measures. Either out up or shut up. During the Soviet times it was Ukraine that produced the rocket scientists and nuclear physicists - it was Ukraine that created the Soviet nuclear arsenal…. Ukraine will either get NATO or they will do EXACTLY what Israel did. Just simply announce that they already have the nuclear capability and Russia (and anyone else that doesn’t like it) can go F themselves. Sincerely, The civilized world pushed into a corner

Ukraine has tried to depend but because of broken promises, Ukraine needs to independently defend its with nuclear weapons because they are a deterrent. Ukraine has a right to defend itself from terrorists in charge of Russia

Gotta disagree. Nuclear weapons are not an effective deterrent to war. If they were, Ukraine would not be invading Russian territory, and Iran would not be attacking Israel, etc. In fact, nuclear deterrence encourages other nations who don’t have them to aspire to obtain them, creating a greater risk of use.

Zelenskyy: People keep saying Ukraine can't win because Russia is nuclear power. Then what security guarantees should Ukraine get to counterbalance nuclear state? NATO? Nuclear weapons? If so, just say it directly: "We will give you NATO membership and a nuclear deterrent." But no one has offered that. What frustrates me most is that no one speaks to Russia with the same urgency: "Russia, you must back down, compromise, and end this war now, because people are dying." As you see, no one talks to them like that.

But the details matter! I’ve dug through many channels and announcement and that what I think happened now! 🗣️ Russia told the US exactly 30 minutes before launch, that they’re gonna launch a big missile at Ukraine, not specifying any more details. This is enough to uphold the nuclear safety protocol, a country needs to announce the flight trajectory so countries know who is targeted. Saying a missile at Ukraine is hence enough, so the US knew it’s not targeted at them, nor any NATO allies. ‼️ But the US had no clue what is going to be launched, where exactly in Ukraine it will land, nor if it is nuclear. So for a short moment US and Europe thought Russia is potentially nuking Ukraine. They only knew that it was not nuclear by checking if the city Dnipro is still physically there after the impacts. Especially Europe was freaked out, since they were surprised by the launch fully and had no warning. -> Essentially, If Russia decides to nuke Ukraine … the west will only just watch. 1/
