2D Animation use to hire real actors like that to preform scenes for perfect proportion refrences when they draw the scenes.. tbh if you bunched all the things they did to get things perfect in 2D and not leave out anything including the workforce.. 2d animation is expensive

The "zero" frame often takes more work than the "hero." It's all about setting up the key poses and timing—the interpolation is the easy part. Good animation feels alive in the in-betweens, not just the extremes. Great example of that principle in action.
