How do ZK proofs differ from multi-party computations (MPC)? 🤔 With ZK proofs, one person has private data and can prove something about it. Example: Let’s say you want to do a transaction with someone and you want to show them you have enough money. You could prove that without revealing the actual amount. With MPC, you can have many people with private data, and you can run a more complex query - a computation. Example: Let’s say you want to calculate an average salary of 3 friends without anyone revealing their salary. Each person could break down their salary into three parts that sum to the total (e.g. for 150 it might be 50 +500 -400). They give just one piece of that sum to each of the others. These are then summed together and eventually divided to calculate the average. Without anyone knowing anything they shouldn't. That is one way that MPC can work. Replace salary with any confidential data in this example and you get the idea! So, ZK proofs are like binary MPC for 1 person. Tokenization as Infrastructure, Not a Shortcut In this clip, André Casterman explains why tokenization is best understood as an upgrade to the internet’s financial infrastructure, not a guarantee of liquidity or success. Tokenization does not create demand on its own. Liquidity still matters. What it does change is the efficiency of how value moves. Cheaper settlement. Faster transfer. Native verifiability. Stablecoins are a clear example. Instead of routing payments through correspondent banking and local clearing entities, value can move directly by transferring tokens. Finance apps that ask for full access to contacts, messages, photos, etc. are a red flag, especially if it's a loan app. A lot of these lending apps are digital avatars of predatory moneylenders (Sudakhor in Hindi). The number of people getting fleeced by shady and illegal loan apps has gone up significantly. Many individuals caught up in the web of these apps frequently resort to drastic actions, such as suicide. For every illegal loan app that's banned, two new ones pop-up. It's become a game of whack-a-mole. What makes these apps disgusting is the fact that many of them deduct as much as 10% upfront. Then there's the fact that interest rates range from 50% to 100%, or even 200%+. It's impossible for people who borrow on these apps to repay with such usurious terms. But considering people who borrow on these apps are desperate, they don't notice the fine print. Traditional loan sharks resort to physical threats to recover money. These loan apps harass people by calling all their contacts and sharing private photos and lewd pictures that are morphed. I have always wondered: What if someone uses a new SIM and phone with no contacts, photos, or messages? What would these apps do to recover money if someone gamed this system? Ben-Sasson, who co-authored the ZeroCash protocol whitepaper and helped found Zcash 🛡️, said that Bitcoin can still have native privacy and infinite scalability if developers can agree to reinstate OP_CAT, a Satoshi-era OP_Code that Bitcoin's creator disabled in 2010. It turns out that Zcash's resurgence in 2025 could be the catalyst for Bitcoin's privacy push. "I hope that one consequence of this would be that the Bitcoin community becomes more open to things like OP_CAT and OP_STARK so that it can have post-quantum security, best privacy, best scale and programmability for this beautiful hard asset that is Bitcoin." Ben-Sasson said. "The technology is ready. All you need is a soft fork adding nine lines of code that Satoshi actually introduced. It's called OP_CAT. It's very, very easy. visionOS in REAL LIFE?! To pitch one of my Vision Pro app concepts to an online interior shop, we prototyped an idea we’ve had for a while: What if you could bring visionOS windows into the real world by printing them onto real frosted glass panels? Not only would this make for a fantastic marketing stunt, but it could also allow people to (kind of) experience these apps in stores without needing to wear a headset at all. Finding the perfect glass, turning a digital design into a printable layout, and producing it took many iterations. Each time, we had to reprint and refine the design, which took several months. For a single pitch, it was definitely too much work, but it was a fun experiment. Looking ahead, I can see this concept becoming the future of advertising Spatial Computing apps in the physical world.
