Doom 3 was nice attempt at making doom the actual horror, with more developed deep lore, NPCs that you can save, suspense and everything. Back in a day it was pretty atmospheric. I liked it. I still prefer more modern doom for it's amazing action but i liked what DOOM 3 did.

Doom 3 might have fumbled its execution in some regards - imo the game that got scifi action/horror just right was the first Dead Space - but I won't pretend Doom 3's atmosphere didn't terrify the camo pants off me.

I always really liked the Soul Cube and Martian esthetics. I tried my hand at using those ideas for my own Martians, but technically you could call this an interpretation of Doom3 Martians

These are super cool! The Praeleanthor are super intriguing and I'm sad they've been forgotten by the new Dooms 🥲 I myself gave them an alien insectoid design inspired by Wayne Barlowe (pic by @kraken_kuddly) and I even commed a Martian Doomguy suit! (pic by NotMuchNormal)
