Never heard of this film and I thought I was familiar with that period. Will check it out. Love Ollie Reed.

What is it about 70s sci-fi where everything is white and plain?

There are already a bunch of women walking around with hyper realistic baby dolls - how long before a humanoid robot maker starts selling these

Maybe the strangest entry in the wave of '70s post-apocalyptic films. And that's really saying something.

One of 2 twilight zones i ever watched. As a kid. 1) a doll came to life 2) a man & woman meet in their neighborhood where everyone has disappeared. Ending scene they're in a "doll house" being watched by some kid as his new 'ant farm' & mom calls him to dinner. Freaky sh*t

That doll is super creepy. And why is she wheeling Bungle about?

Seriously there was an organization named Zero Population Growth it was in the 60s and 70s Look it up

In the future of the 70’s everyone will wear a turtleneck with a big ass medallion on top.

Great 90s video game of the same name with artwork by Aiden Hughes @theSiliconSiren

I like this movie, it’s better than its reputation would suggest. Those dolls are creepy as fuuuuck!

Hamble's revenge.😉

This looks brilliant! How has it escaped my notice? No longer.

I think it's great they got work after biting Barbarella

👉🏻Everyone👈🏻 will be required to own an interactive Susan Boyle doll which was manufactured in India by the intellectually disabled.

Oliver Reed! 😍

Most educated boomers in ivory towers still think this way.

"Get me out of here" is generally my reaction when the subject turns to babies. 😏

Looks a bit like Brian Sewell 🤔

Caught it on a late night ITV showing - when such films were sneaked out then - akin to a fever dream.

Ooh not heard of this. Will check it out 👍

Looks terrifying & creepy 😳

I watched this last year. It was good. those neighbors should have got their ass beat though.

Paul R. Ehrlich has much to answer for.

Thanks 😍😍

National Geographic had a story about the population explosion that would result in over 20billion people by 2030 Was at the time of women’s liberation, planned parenthood. Now we have shrinking populations. Top down government can be disastrous.

Every time I see Oliver Reed I wonder: How drunk is he at that moment 😂🥴

😬😬

wouldn't that cost more than just Soylent Green?

Jesus Christ I was just about to go to sleep…..not anymore

The entry for this film in the Encyclopedia of Science Fiction pointed out that Zero Population Growth refers to a stable population, in which enough children are born to replace those who die, and the film should really have been called "Zero Population."

I've never heard of this. It looks pretty low budget.

I’d be fine. I’d just drink tea, play video games, and listen to audiobooks. Unless it’s like Fahrenheit 451 as well.

There is a great book out there Children of the Men. When people couldn't have kids anymore. And babies were replaced with dolls and animals.

Geraldine Chaplin was in it too! I was about 10 years old. Lots of sci-fi films of that time sort of predicted (or gave us a warning?) of the weird future that lay ahead of us.

Thoes dolls will murder . We've all seen it.
