Zuck basically laying out the thesis for Muse’s long-term strategy right here. Eventually a tax on commerce. $META

ma boy zuck took too much caffeine this morning, talking very fast. but great model, vision, and philosophical as always.

It’s more likely going to come from $SHOP $AMZN, $BKNG etc.

Meta already has a tax on commerce (advertising), around 5-20% of revenue for brands

I wonder how that tax would scale

A tax on commerce is the endgame thesis. Execution and trust come first.

I’m glad to know the company has a plan for its CapEx investments. FCF has tanked and that’s could be worrisome to some, but for the visionaries it’s all part of the process. $META

Is not going to come from us.

Or is it a facilitating fee?

Would you be so kind and point me to the whole conversation?

Thank you!

Where is this from?

Love the way Zuck frames this. My belief is the ecosystem play $META is after will drive tons of value. Getting strong users by free products like Llama and Muse and then figuring out how to monetize it after makes a ton of sense to me and believe starts taking market share away from the frontier labs that are charging 10x the price.

@AndrewYang smells like something you said YEARS ago, freedom dividend when?

Everyone else (including Google the father of internet ads) was like ads are dirty… meta is embracing it. It’s the right play, OpenAI seems to agree but not sure if they have enough advertisers base to beat meta ads network, in the end it will come to speed.
