Two new hallucinations. The petrodollar — oil only sold in US dollars. And China — the world's factory, paid in US dollars. China didn't rise because of communism. China didn't rise because of hard work. China rose because America needed somewhere to park its dollars. China is a hallucination of a hallucination. And here is the problem with that. If the original hallucination becomes unstable — China becomes twice as unstable. Because it has nothing real to stand on. That is why China and America will always need each other. The dream only works if both keep dreaming it.
