Can we talk about the (lack of) cast time on his lightning though? Iroh and Azula have to wind theirs up for a sec but Ozai can let it rip the instant the eclipse ends. Dude was a menace lmao

It will always be fvck Ozai for doing our boy Zuko so bad. He never liked his own son my theory is because Zuko took after his mother’s gentle spirit and Azula well that’s self-explanatory. The battle of good and evil always was a point of contention for Zuko given his ancestry. Being related to both Fire Lord Sozen and Avatar Roku (on his moms side was explained when Iroh was locked up)

The way Ozai was able to bend lightning at such a ridiculously fast pace compared to Iroh and Azula… put him at a level above them all

I like to think some part of Ozai felt proud, but then again he isn’t a normal dad

Man, that lightning redirection trick Iroh taught Zuko was a stroke of genius. What Iroh taught Zuko was that life will throw crap your way, like lightning. You have to take the lightning into your body to redirect it. However, you can’t take it to heart or it will kill you and you can’t hold on to it or it will destroy you. You have to let the lightning go. Zuko only ever uses this technique against Ozai and Azula- the two people in the series who abused him the most. What Zuko being able to redirect the lightning they throw at him means is that neither Ozai nor Azula can hurt him any more. It’s a self-defense move and a life lesson rolled into one.
