Poor guy looked frail in 2019. I played a round of golf with Frank and his manager back in the 80's, one the most down to earth celebrities I ever met. He loved his golf, wanted to play a round of golf in every town he performed in around the globe. RIP Frank 🤟

UNO Convention Center 1994 arguably my best concert ever to see! Hard Rock Cafe dinner with my girlfriend, in walks ticket winners from a NOLA radio station, every one of that busload came in with black coats, Top Hats and Cheap Sunglasses. Concert 2 hours later. The absolute best. Photo of me Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with The Eliminator …my pose honored it.

Rip Frank. Bought Tres Hombres back in 74 and loved them ever since. I remember an in studio appearance on Howard Stern. Howard asked Frank if he was alright before they started. Lol.

ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard has died at 77. In a 2019 interview, Beard recalled entering rehab just as the band was taking off in the late 1970s. Asked whether they ever considered replacing him, Billy Gibbons made the band’s loyalty clear: “There is no other drummer. There is one guy.”

Frank Beard of ZZ Top has died at 77. 56 years behind the kit. The only member of the classic lineup who never grew the famous beard. Just the steady pulse that held the whole thing together while Billy and Dusty became icons. Every few years I catch myself thinking these old blues-rock bands have finally run their course. Then someone like Beard reminds you how deep the roots go. They just kept showing up. Decade after decade. That kind of longevity is rare. And it leaves a bigger hole than most people realize. Rest easy, Frank.

ZZ Top may have lost its drummer of more than 50 years on Monday, but lead singer and guitarist Billy Gibbons wasn't in Austin to shed tears. He then decided to pay tribute to his old friend this weekend, putting on an epic show in Austin as the band returned to tour.

That tone is illegal. 🔥 ZZ Top performing “La Grange” on the Howard Stern Show, 2013. Billy Gibbons’ guitar sound is one of the fattest, meanest, and most iconic in rock history. Still sounds unreal.

This week’s #FridayFeeling #guitar post goes out to the one and only, award-winning Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. While strolling through Helsinki, Finland a few years ago, Billy met a busking musician who loaned him his guitar. Billy serenaded the street with BB King’s "The Thrill Is Gone”, totally unbothered by the public. Amazing! At home would’ve been a very different story! I’ve known Billy since 1973. He’s a phenomenal guitarist and stand-up, down-to-earth gentleman. Have a great weekend, everyone! #rocknroll #viral #blowthisup ZZ Top

🔥🎸🔥A single note is all it takes. Before you see a beard or sunglasses, you already know who's playing. Rev. Billy F. Gibbons, or Willie G., dedicated to close friends and family, celebrates his 76th birthday.💐💐💐 He didn't just found ZZ Top; he redefined what it meant to play Blues Rock. He took Texas mud and turned it into gold with his harmonies, his sustained grooves, and his attitude that you don't learn in any music school.

“He had a beard! And that was the thing that [mitch] kept saying to me is ‘this guy had a beard…’” Candace’s entire premise for linking Cabot Phillips into this story is because he has a beard. But now, she’s insisting that he didn’t have a beard that day, and saying that his lack of a beard discredits him. 🤔 I don’t think she realizes that it actually destroys her own claims.

La Grange, the song that is known worldwide, was released by the legendary trio ZZ Top. It caused so many discussions with its lyrics and meaning for years, today, is seen as one of the best productions of all time. In this live performance, Slash and Billy Gibbons gathered together for this amazing song. One is an amazing guitarist while the other is the best of the blues with his famous style. The song is the one you know, La Grange, two amazing musicians and one epic performance!

"Runaway" was released in 1961 and became the biggest hit of Del Shannon's career. Written by him and Max Crook, the track has a classic '60s rock and roll sound with an iconic Musitron organ riff (an instrument created by Crook, based on a modified organ). Released as a single, it reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks. Del Shannon's signature falsetto and Musitron's innovative sound helped define early '60s rock. The song is a timeless classic, has been covered by various artists and to this day is considered one of the greatest songs of the pre-Beatles era.

This giant pink granite dome has been watching over Texas for more than a billion years. Rising 425 feet above the Hill Country near Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, Enchanted Rock is one of the largest exposed granite formations in the United States. Native American tribes considered it a sacred place, and legends tell of mysterious sounds coming from the rock after sunset. Those sounds are real. As the massive granite heats up during the day and cools at night, it expands and contracts, creating eerie creaks and groans that helped earn it the name "Enchanted Rock." Today, visitors make the climb to the summit for some of the most spectacular views in Texas. On a clear day, you can see for miles across the rolling Hill Country, and after dark, the stars put on a show that's hard to match anywhere else in the state. If you've never stood on top of Enchanted Rock, it's one of those Texas experiences that belongs on every bucket list. Have you made the climb, or is this a destination you'd still like to visit? 🤠🏔️

“Johnny B. Goode” was originally released by Chuck Berry in 1958 and became one of the foundational anthems of rock and roll. In 1995, Berry performed the classic alongside Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at the inaugural concert celebrating the opening of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. The performance brought together one of rock and roll's founding figures with one of the artists who had been deeply influenced by his music, creating a remarkable meeting between two generations of rock. The collaboration had an especially meaningful history behind it. More than two decades earlier, in 1973, a young Springsteen and his band had actually served as Berry's backing band at a concert at the University of Maryland's Cole Field House in College Park. Berry arrived without a rehearsal or soundcheck, leaving Springsteen and the band to improvise their way through a set of Berry classics. The 1995 performance therefore brought the two artists together again on a much larger stage, with Springsteen returning to the role of backing musician for one of his most important rock and roll influences.
