We had the honor, together with our colleagues, to visit the Garden of Sophianity on the grounds of Saint Sophia of Kyiv, where the VI Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen was held. It symbolizes our ability to withstand and recover. In Ukrainian culture, a garden has always been more than just a garden. For Skovoroda, it represents a place of wisdom; for Shevchenko, an image of home and life. Today, it is also becoming a symbol of resilience – of caring for ourselves, our memory and what we want to pass on. Today, it also keeps alongside the traditions from different regions and communities, folk art and contemporary design – Crimean Tatar Örnek, Bukovynian traditional clothing, ornaments from the Luhansk region, ceramics, textiles and vytynanky. And also the scents of the steppe, the forest, the mountain meadows and Ukrainian flowers. All of this reminds us: our culture not only preserves memory. It helps us endure and continue living.
