In Poland (and perhaps in other Slavic countries too) there is a belief that storks fetch good luck therefore farmers place dummy nests on roofs to attract the birds.

To have storks land on your land is supposedly a sign of good luck, prosperity and new beginnings. I hope they bring all that to Ukraine and it's people. 💙💛🇺🇦💙💛

Nature truly has a way of reminding us of life's beauty. Hundreds of storks gathering in the fields is incredible, what a spectacular blessing. Hopefully it's a sign of a great harvest and peaceful days ahead.

Who could have imagined that a worm-eating stork would land on a plowed field full of worms. Those birds are clever - they gather around the moment a tractor pulls into the field.

In Ukrainian culture, the stork represents good fortune, and protection against evil.

I'd say the birds are hungry, presumably there's a shortage of their natural food, like amphibians and fish because of the drought.

As they have done every year for thousands of years, these birds migrate to the Middle East from Central Europe. There's nothing unusual about this, and it's not a "sign" of any kind.
