بفضل الله عز وجل وحده وتوفيقه؛ حصدتُ جائزة أفضل ورقة بحثية في قسم الاتصال الدولي في المؤتمر السنوي لجمعية تعليم الصحافة والاتصال الجماهيري الأمريكية (AEJMC 2026)، الذي يُعدّ المؤتمر الرئيسي والأهم في التخصص ذاته، وذلك لفئة طلبة الدراسات العليا، مع ترشيح الورقة للمراجعة تمهيدًا لنشرها في إحدى المجلات العلمية المصنفة ضمن الربع الأول (Q1). تناولت الدراسة كيف وظّف الإعلام السعودي الناطق بالإنجليزية استضافة المملكة لكأس العالم 2034، لحظة الإعلان عن قرار منحها حق الاستضافة، كممارسة للدبلوماسية الرياضية، وكيف بنى سرديات الشرعية الدولية وفكّك الانتقادات المرتبطة بمفهوم «الغسيل الرياضي». جاءت هذه الجائزة بعد مشاركة مميزة في مؤتمر هذا العام، تضمنت: قبول خمس أوراق بحثية في أقسام: الاتصال الدولي، والاتصال السياسي، والأقليات والاتصال، والدراسات النقدية والثقافية. الفوز بجائزة «كارولين سترومان» من قسم الأقليات والاتصال. إنجاز مشاريع بحثية بالشراكة مع زوجتي ورفيقة الرحلة البحثية والدراسية، هدى عسيري، من ضمنها مشروع فائز بمنحة وزارة الثقافة «المملكة من منظور عالمي». أما وراء هذا الإنجاز، فقد أُنجزت هذه الورقة الفائزة في واحدة من أصعب مراحل حياتي؛ بين ضغوط الاستعداد للاختبار المبدئي في الدكتوراه، ومتابعة والدي -رحمه الله- في العناية المركزة، ثم العودة إلى المملكة. كانت أيامًا ثقيلة وقاسية؛ تتداخل فيها ساعات البحث والكتابة مع لحظات يغلبني فيها البكاء. ولم يدفعني إلى الاستمرار سوى الإيمان بالله، والشعور بأن هذه الرحلة لا تخصني وحدي، بل هي امتداد لقصة والديّ، ولتعبهما ودعواتهما بأن أصل إلى ما هو أبعد. أهدي هذا المنجز إلى روحَي والدي ووالدتي، اللذين كانا ولا يزالان، بعد توفيق الله، أساسًا في كل خطوة، وفي كل ما أصل إليه. وما زالت ترافقني تلك الأمنية التي كتبتها في أول يوم ابتعاث: أن أتمكن من إكمال قصة بدأت من امرأة ورجل نحتا الصخر وهيآ لي الطريق، وما أطمح إليه اليوم ليس إلا فصلًا يليق بتلك القصة. وختامًا، حريٌّ بالقول إن ما يحققه أبناء الوطن وبناته من حضور وتميّز على كبرى المنصات وفي مختلف المجالات هو، بعد توفيق الله، ثمرة وطن داعم وقيادة استثمرت في الإنسان وآمنت بقدرته على المنافسة والوصول.

Young Nigerians are on fire! Leave everything & listen to our Gen Z speak. I’m so proud of them! Why should anyone pay over ₦600K for a substandard education in a public university? NELFUND is a Ponzi Scheme. The APC almost got away with it. They removed the subsidy in Education, & ‘public’ school fees skyrocketed! To make matters worse, you told them to borrow from you before they could go to school. How much did you pay to attend a public school? Which school did you attend? Their struggling parents can barely afford food & rent. Where do you expect them to fetch the 600K from? From the poverty you created? We have to speak for these young minds. We should never make the mistake of abandoning them. Education is a RIGHT, not a privilege! Over ₦600K in a “public” university without functional laboratories, electricity, R&D, & a conducive environment for higher learning, is no education, but punishment! You are denying our children their right to a guaranteed future. Education was under attack in eleven years. They want to keep you poor & uneducated. Asiwaju is an octogenarian. He is not part of Nigeria’s future debates. His Generation are already on their way out. We Millennials ‘may’ have failed. But the APC cannot withstand the Generation Zoomers. Yesterday I watched this report on Citizen TV that really disturbed me. While CS Migos & PS Bitok continue to say school fees are affordable, this is what the CBC/CBE transition looks like on the ground. Where are such parents expected to find KSh 50,000 per year when some cannot even afford basic necessities? About 800,000 students have not joined Grade 10, not because they failed, but because their families simply can’t afford it. Under 8-4-4, most Kenyans at least had a fair chance to sit KCSE. Today, many bright students are being locked out early purely because of cost. This is a serious issue, and the people responsible for education need to see it. If you believe in equal opportunity, tag the CS for Education, MPs, and the President so they see what’s happening on the ground. If CBC/CBE is here to stay, then education must be truly free so no child is left behind. Funding is about priorities, not excuses. I’ll keep speaking up for these students. Here is the video.
