At that time, I had to do a traditional Thai dancer look for her, which was such a big transformation because before that I had done her makeup as #LISA from BP. Such was the lack of faith in “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” that the MGM Studio considered this work a “B” picture. A cheap and low budget commercial film that was easily so dispensable. The studio even reassigning the film’s original budget to “Brigadoon” starring the draw of Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse estimating that it was surely set to be the more successful film. All of the women’s dresses designed by Walter Plunkett were made from old quilts from the Salvation Army which is unclear whether this was done due to a curtailed budget, or artistic effect. Legendary choreographer Michael Kidd was not too excited at the prospect of the film’s premise: “I can’t see any dancing in this picture. You got these seven slobs living out in the country. They got horse manure on the floor. They’re unwashed. They’re unshaven. They look terrible. These people are going to get up and dance? We’ll be hooted out of the theater. It doesn’t make any sense to me. Had to find a way to have these backwoods men dance without looking ridiculous. I had to base it all around activities you would accept from such people. It couldn’t look like ballet. And it could only have been done by superbly trained dancers.” Many have attested this is a ballet sequence. It is not according to Kidd whose choreography came from a perception of “human behaviours” further stylised in a rhythmical form. A use of “real-life gestures.” Russ Tamblyn in this dance for instance - is not a trained dancer, but he was an exceptional gymnast/ acrobat. This “Barn Dance” sequence standing as one of the most technically executed dance performances ever put to screen. Full of muscular energy and vigor that showcase technical feats at the highest level. It was the one of the most successful films in 1954, and is preserved by the Library of Congress - as culturally significant. Same film made on a shoestring budget. Slopet League Everything you see here was built by Opus 5 and GPT 5.6 Sol in _____🤫. This is not an html page, it is a functional game with a fair bit of polish working inside a real game engine. This has to be some kind of trick. NO. It downloaded a map. NO. Imported assets. Only the Octane meshes, I have other cars that were generated that look just as good. The balls, the map, the effects, the physics, animations, etc were all generated from scratch by Opus 5. GPT 5.6 Sol handled the car meshes. This is only the beginning. I made this in about a day and a half, and most of that time I was waiting on Opus to finish generation. Maybe 25 prompts. I will share my process, and many photos, proofs, evidence of this as we go. This is just a taste, I'm extremely busy this week and working on real life stuff so I'm not going to put any more time into this until next week, but believe me I'm gonna polish this into something beautiful. Slopet League Everything you see here was built by Opus 5 and GPT 5.6 Sol in _____🤫. This is not an html page, it is a functional game with a fair bit of polish working inside a real game engine. This has to be some kind of trick. NO. It downloaded a map. NO. Imported assets. Only the Octane meshes, I have other cars that were generated that look just as good. The balls, the map, the effects, the physics, animations, etc were all generated from scratch by Opus 5. GPT 5.6 Sol handled the car meshes. This is only the beginning. I made this in about a day and a half, and most of that time I was waiting on Opus to finish generation. Maybe 25 prompts. I will share my process, and many photos, proofs, evidence of this as we go. This is just a taste, I'm extremely busy this week and working on real life stuff so I'm not going to put any more time into this until next week, but believe me I'm gonna polish this into something beautiful. Dress To Impress makeup artist Alune addresses claims regarding one of her makeup face designs. “Hello everyone, I'd like to take some time to address recent claims revolving around stolen concepts/art. Firstly, I want to make it clear that I would never intentionally copy another creator’s work or take inspiration from someone without providing proper credit. Respecting the work of other artists and creators is something I take very seriously. I have always made an effort to treat other creators and their work with respect, and I would hope to receive the same courtesy in return. My priority in this situation was to speak directly to Pyro in hopes of reaching a mutual understanding of these claims. During our conversation, I provided my time-lapse, my references, and some iterations I created before arriving at the final product. At no point did I admit to copying or taking inspiration from her work, as that was not the case. Any similarities were purely coincidental and may have resulted from us having very similar inspirations while researching. That being said, Pyro is completely entitled to her feelings and concerns, and in my discussion with her, I hope I cleared up any suspicion that I was stealing/copying her work by providing evidence of my process and references. I would like to acknowledge that inspiration is both natural and essential to the creative process, especially when creating faces and makeup looks. From now on, I will make a greater effort to be more transparent about my process and references so that I can highlight the talented MUA's who inspire me and ensure credit is given where credit is due. #Repost @siantmiller ・・・ Creating Gonzales Caboto for Paddington in Peru with Antonio Banderas: The inspiration for this character, a Spanish conquistador from the 16C, stemmed from paintings of Hernán Cortés (the famous Spanish explorer) & the classic 1949 Ealing Comedy ‘Kind Hearts and Coronets’ ft. Alec Guinness who plays multiple, related characters, all distinct & credible but also intentionally recognisable as him. • Much like that film, director Dougal Wilson, the film’s producers & I were certain that the way to achieve this would be by employing the sum of many parts from the hair & make-up tool box, with mindfulness to very the tight schedule. • Initially I worked with concept artist Paul Catling, who put together images of Antonio incorporating the facial imagery I wanted to see for each character. For Caboto, I wanted a larger & more hooked shaped nose, some ageing around the eyes & forehead, with a head of lustrous hair, a full beard with moustache & full, well defined eyebrows. • Michel Coulier created the prosthetics; a silicone nose & forehead piece, which were applied by myself & @cherylmitchellmakeup with Fangs FX ® creating the gold framed tooth. I traveled to SIG SAUER headquarters in New Hampshire for a firsthand look at what goes into building some of the most advanced firearms in the world. The experience continued at the SIG SAUER Academy, where I visited their roughly 140-acre training and testing facility, ran through vehicle-based shooting scenarios, tested new firearms and ammunition, and got a closer look at some of SIG’s latest capabilities.
