I genuinely cannot understand how someone can watch this story and still stand there, looking at two women, and somehow decide that the wrong one is the victim. On one side, you have a girl (Yıldız) who has been mistreated her entire life. Since the moment she was born, she was treated like a sacrifice for a conflict she was never even part of and later we find out that this conflict never even existed. Her right to study was taken from her. She was pushed into a marriage at a very young age just imagine being six, seven, eight years old, living in fear of being tied to someone you don’t even know. She was treated like a servant in her own home, by the very people she thought were her family. And just when she gets close to the happiness she dreamed of, the man she was engaged to shows up with another wife. She gets mistreated by that wife, by his family, and even (unintentionally) by him, because he was trying to run away from his own feelings, and that only caused her more heartbreak. The whole world was literally against her. She fought through all of that, only to find out in the end that everything she suffered for was based on something that wasn’t even real. Her entire life was built on a lie. That she isn’t even part of that family that she has literally no one in this world. Now on the other side… You have a girl (Melek) who, yes, was taken from her biological mother but she was raised by loving parents. She had everything anyone could wish for: education, freedom, a happy childhood, a healthy environment. She lived her life, fell in love, went out, made choices and no one questioned her, no one controlled her. And then what did she do? She found out that her man was engaged to another woman before marrying her (and even saw him marry her) and instead of holding on to her dignity, she chose to stay, to fight for a man who lied to her, to hold onto a marriage he tried to end multiple times. She used her unborn child to keep him tied to her. She lied constantly, and her excuse was that she was “protecting her marriage” a marriage that was already broken from the moment Serhat removed that ring at the airport in episode one. She tried to hand Yıldız (a woman who had already suffered enough) over to dangerous people. Then she found out the truth about her own birth (that her father ra*ped her mother.)And still no empathy. No moment of humanity toward her own mother. All she cared about was herself. And even though none of this had anything to do with Yıldız, she still found a way to blame it on her. Instead of holding her father accountable, she went and made a deal with him to get rid of Yıldız. She literally made a deal with the devil just to hurt Yıldız one more time. And after all of that… you want me to feel sorry for her? You want me to call her a victim? I honestly cannot believe we are living on the same planet with people who see this and still say, “she’s the victim.” Not morally. Not logically. Not emotionally. There is no world where this makes sense. It’s like watching someone clearly cause harm, and still calling them the victim and actually BELIEVING it. #HalefKöklerinÇağrısı

💔💔COBB COUNTY, GA💔💔💔 FROM FB: Today, while volunteering at the shelter and walking my row of dogs, I noticed a different dog in another row sitting quietly in the corner of her kennel… shaking and trying to make herself as small as possible. I looked at her kennel card and learned her name was Hazel and she had just been surrendered yesterday . 😭💔 I decided to go sit with her, hoping I could make her day just a little bit better. Little did I know… she would be the one making mine.🥹 Hazel was terrified and unsure of everyone around her. But little by little, she found the courage to take one step… then another… until she came over, kissed my face, and reminded me just how sweet she truly is. I later learned that Hazel was surrendered because the family cat repeatedly attacked her. 🥺 And through no fault of her own, she lost the only home she knew. Hazel is only 2 years old. She’s dog-friendly, good with kids, housebroken, and crate-trained. She has so much love to give, yet tonight she’s sleeping in a shelter kennel instead of a home. I spent a long time with her today, holding her close and reminding her that she is a good girl… that she is loved, that she is seen, and that someone still cares about her. Before I closed her kennel door, I made Hazel a promise.. I promised her I would share her story with the world. And I told her that I have an incredible village of people who always show up when a dog needs them most. Now I’m asking that village for one more favor. Please help me keep my promise to Hazel. 🥺🙏🏻😭 Share her story. Tell your friends and family about her. If you’ve been thinking about adopting, fostering, or rescuing, please consider giving Hazel the forever home she deserves. Let’s show Hazel that yesterday wasn’t the end of her story… it was the beginning of a beautiful new chapter. ❤️ Hazel is up for adoption at : 📍Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta, GA. ID: (20451) Kennel : (30) ☎️ (770) 499-4136

EXCLUSIVE: Young Ontario woman's life becomes a living hell after Moderna booster shot leaves her paralyzed. Doctors confirm vaccine connection and offer Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID). Kayla Pollock is a 37-year-old mother from Ontario whose life took a drastic turn after receiving a Moderna Covid-19 booster shot. She experienced paralysis from the neck down and has been enduring a challenging ordeal ever since. Kayla's early years were marked by unspeakable cruelty and suffering. As an infant, she endured the horrors of severe abuse, including broken bones, cigarette burns, and bruises inflicted upon her helpless body by her parents. Her distressing situation prompted the intervention of family and children services, ultimately leading to her placement in a caring, loving and supportive home. As she grew older, Kayla dedicated the majority of her younger adult years to behavioral training of exotic animals. However, she eventually made the decision to resign from this profession after having her son, recognizing the inherent risks of the job. Kayla eventually ended up in the small town of Mount Albert, Ontario, where she co-raised her son after a separation. She worked as a casual educational assistant at Robert Munsch Public School, assisting kindergarten children. Her home was conveniently located right next to the school. Kayla's son attended the same school where she worked, and she expressed her love for her job and the positive direction her life was heading. Describing herself as fit, healthy, and very active, Kayla enjoyed hiking, being outdoors, gardening, and going places with her son. When the pandemic struck, Kayla recalls the mainstream media, politicians, and public health officials emphasizing the severity of the virus and urging everyone to get vaccinated. She remembers health officials specifically advising that those at highest risk should prioritize getting vaccinated. Being immunocompromised and a type one diabetic, Kayla heeded the advice of health officials and received the first two Pfizer shots in the middle of 2021 and didn’t experience any issues. Additionally, she mentions another reason for getting vaccinated was because her father resided in a long-term care facility with dementia, and vaccination was going to be a requirement for entry into the care home. Kayla then decided to take a booster, but this time it was a Moderna booster shot. She recounts going to a vaccination drive and the police being there. She found that odd and questioned why the police were present. According to Kayla, people were upset that Moderna was being given out instead of Pfizer, and that was the reason for the police presence. Kayla says that something didn’t sit right in her gut, but she went ahead with the Moderna booster shot anyway. She explains her reasoning for getting the third shot was because she felt like a third one would be mandated at some point to get access into her dads long term care home. She received the Moderna booster shot on January 11, 2022. Four days later, Kayla described a situation where her legs just gave out, and she collapsed, but all seemed fine a short time later. Then, nine days later, she experienced a similar event, and at that time, she called her doctor, asking to see a neurologist because she suspected something wasn’t right. On the morning of February 22, 2022, Kayla's life took an irreversible turn. As she awoke, opened her eyes, a sudden realization struck her – she couldn't move her body. Despite the shock, she says she remained calm and started yelling for help. Fortunately, her boyfriend who spent the night, was in the driveway preparing to leave for work, and heard her cries for help. Her boyfriend called 911 and Kayla was transported to Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario. While in the emergency department Kayla recounts that the attending physician initially dismissed her symptoms, suggesting that it was all in her head and portrayed her as a "crazy person," and ordered a psychiatric consult. All of what Kayla describes happening is evident in her medical records which we obtained and reviewed. Eventually, an MRI was conducted, revealing that Kayla had a very large lesion on her spinal cord. A neurologist followed up with Kayla and recommended a course of steroids in an attempt to decrease the size of the lesion. Kayla questioned the neurologist and asked if the lesion could be a tumor. In an audio recording taken by Kayla’s boyfriend, the neurologist responds, saying, “it's less likely a tumor” and that it is his “gut impression it was caused by the vaccine.” When Kayla questions the doctor as to whether many people have had something similar happen to them, the doctor responds, saying “many people have had it.” Later, Kayla would learn that she had developed transverse myelitis, a condition that interrupts the transmission of messages along the spinal cord nerves throughout the body. She would go on to spend several months in the hospital, where she says she was offered medical assistance in dying (MAID) on two occasions but rejected the offer. During Kayla's hospital stay, she received steroids, which she claims helped to some extent, allowing her to regain very slight movement in her arms, hands, and fingers. However, she still has absolutely no feeling from the neck down. Visually examining her fingernails reveals decay due to the lack of nerve function. Kayla believes that if the initial doctor had taken her concerns seriously, rather than dismissing her as a "crazy person," and promptly ordered an MRI, she might have been able to walk again or experience sensation in some parts of her body that she doesn’t have today. After her initial treatment at the local hospital, Kayla was subsequently transferred to Lyndhurst Rehabilitation Centre in Toronto to undergo several months of intensive rehabilitation aimed at attempting to restore her physical capabilities and adapting to her new reality. Unfortunately, Kayla says that rehab did not help her. Following her discharge from the hospital, she now takes a long list of drugs daily. She ended up losing everything she worked hard for—her home, the ability to co-raise her son, and her job, essentially losing everything. Kayla was placed on provincial disability and was forced to move away from Mount Albert, where her son lives, into an apartment that could accommodate her wheelchair accessibility needs. Kayla has faced challenges in obtaining the promised hours of in-home care after leaving the hospital. Kayla relies on a personal support worker to help her get out of bed each morning, another organization assists with meal preparation, and in the evenings, a friend comes over to manually extract feces from her bowel and aid her in getting into bed. Securing compensation through the federal government’s Vaccine Injury Support Program (VISP) has been difficult for Kayla. She initiated the application process in July of 2022, following up with the program six months later. However, according to Kayla, her application was still under review at that time. Another six months elapsed, and when she sought an update, the program informed her that they had never received her initial application. In response, Kayla reapplied to the program and was recently assigned a case worker. Uncertainty looms over whether she will be approved and, if approved, when she will receive any form of compensation. Kayla faces challenges in performing simple tasks both at home and in the community. She is in a difficult financial situation and desperately seeks a service dog. According to her, having a service dog would not only assist her with daily tasks but also offer companionship, providing her with much-needed company. An organization called Veterans 4 Freedom has stepped in to help Kayla and has set up a GiveSendGo campaign to help her raise funds for a service dog. A link to that fundraising campaign is below.

Laima walked a few steps ahead, then turned around to look back. She did this several times. The rescuers soon realized that something was different. The mother dog was nursing her puppies, but today, she was not simply coming to ask for food as she had on previous occasions. She was trying to lead them somewhere. After a few minutes, Laima stopped in front of an abandoned house. Inside, four tiny puppies were hiding. She had been living there with her litter, doing everything she could to keep them safe under the harshest circumstances. The story began with abandonment. No one knows exactly when Laima's former owner left her behind, but the consequences were clear. A mother dog was forced to wander in search of food and shelter while trying to protect her puppies inside an abandoned house. That cruelty did not simply take away her home. It placed her entire little family in danger day after day. Yet Laima refused to give up. Her maternal instinct proved stronger than her fear. She realized that the people who had given her food before might be able to do more. So she acted. Without words, she walked ahead, turned back to make sure they were following, and then led them to the place where her puppies were hiding. It was her way of telling them that she needed help. Her actions made many people stop and think. While some owners are willing to abandon their pets when caring for them becomes inconvenient, a dog who had herself been abandoned was still willing to trust people in order to save her puppies. The contrast is both painful and moving. It highlights the great distance between the responsibility that humans sometimes forget and the protective instinct that animals continue to hold onto. In this case, extending a helping hand meant more than simply bringing a dog family to safety. It was also an affirmation that there are still people willing to stay when animals have been abandoned. Every rescue like this carries a simple message: their lives matter. Laima and her four puppies were brought to a rescue shelter. They now had the opportunity to receive care, experience kindness, and eventually find new homes. The story also raises an important question about the responsibility of pet owners. Taking an animal into your home should not be a temporary decision. When we choose to bring a pet into our lives, we accept the responsibility of being there throughout its life — including when it becomes sick, grows old, or is no longer as “cute” as it once was. Abandoning a pet is not only an irresponsible act toward a living being. It can also create a chain of consequences: a mother dog is forced to wander, puppies are born into hardship, and society is left to deal with the consequences of that neglect. Laima did the best she could with what she had. She could not change the decision made by her former owner, but she chose to protect her puppies through intelligence, determination, and trust. The rescuers responded with concrete action. In a world where abandonment still happens far too often, Laima's story offers a simple but powerful reminder. A mother's instinct can overcome even harsh circumstances. An animal's trust can touch the human heart. And most importantly, when we choose to care for another living being, we have a responsibility not to turn our backs on them.

I didn't know this was how Miyabi's mother died. I thought she got blasted or something in the chaos of the Hollow's expansion, but learning the truth, that she was corrupted by Ether into an almost monstrous state, and the only way for her to pass peacefully was to be slain by her own beloved daughter... Her mother had always dreamed of a peaceful life for Miyabi, shielding her from the weight of the Hoshimi family's cursed legacy and the blade Tailless. She trained her in gentler ways, pouring everything into giving her daughter a chance at ordinary happiness, far from the path of warriors and Hollows. Yet during the Fall of the Old Capital, when Hollow Zero suddenly devoured their home and corrupted so many, including her, that gentle wish was ripped away. That single moment shattered everything. A mother who only wanted to watch her little girl grow up, laugh, and chase simple joys, robbed of it all in the cruelest way imaginable. She never got to see Miyabi blossom into the extraordinary young woman she is today. And Miyabi... she lost the one person who was her entire universe. Her mother was her strength, her teacher, her source of warmth and comfort in a lineage steeped in duty and blood. With that loss, the light in her world dimmed. No wonder she often seems to lack emotions on the surface to me, it's not coldness. She's rigorously keeping her grief in check, channeling the unbearable pain into iron discipline so it doesn't consume her. This kind of grief doesn't just fade you know, it carves deep scars. The helplessness of watching the person you love most twist into something unrecognizable, then being forced to raise the blade against them, it's a wound that never fully heals. Yet Miyabi transformed that loss into unyielding strength. She turned her weakness and sorrow into a vow, to become the blade that protects the weak, so no one else ever has to endure such a nightmare. She leads Hollow Special Operations Section 6 not just out of duty, but to sever the roots of corruption, to confront Hollows headnon, and to ensure that children like the girl she once was never lose their entire world in a single, merciless instant. Her mother's unfulfilled wish now fuels her resolve. Mothers deserve to see their children grow. Miyabi deserved to be wrapped in that love for years to come. The tragedy stole that from them both, but in honoring her mother's memory through her determination and fierce protection of New Eridu, Miyabi keeps that love alive in the only way she can. It's heartbreaking... yet incredibly powerful.

Great summary here of the ongoing situation involving Lindsey Gaetani (Lindsey Gaetani) and her efforts to (by herself) file a motion in court (that was thwarted by either Brian Tully, Pam Friedman or Jen McCabe's cousin). FULL TRANSCRIPT; Alright, so let's get right into this one. Today we're unpacking a really intense and personal story from Lindsey Gaetani. It's a story that involves a major court case, a huge data leak, and a truly bizarre and frankly shocking confrontation that she says went down inside a public courthouse. And it all kicks off with one jarring sentence. "I thought I just told you that you had to wait for Pam [Friedman]." I mean, can you imagine you walk into a public building trying to file a legal document and you're met with that? According to Lindsey Gaetani, this is exactly what a court clerk said. It's a statement that immediately set the tone for a pretty unbelievable standoff. And yeah, that's the big question here, isn't it? What on earth could lead to a situation where a citizen is apparently being barred from entering a courthouse by the very clerks who are supposed to work there for the public? We're going to piece together all the events just as Gaetani tells them to figure out how she got here. Okay, so let's jump right into the deep end to the most dramatic point in this story. Gaetani showing up at the Norfolk Superior Courthouse for a really critical hearing. She was there to file a motion, which is basically a formal request to the judge to protect her own private data because she felt like she had no one else to turn to. The first thing she does, she says, is call her state-appointed advocate, a woman named Pamela Friedman. But instead of getting help, she says Pam actually tried to stall her, telling her to just wait outside. You know, which is kind of strange, right? Especially given how urgent this all felt to her. So Gaetani decides, forget this, I'm calling the clerk's office myself. And that's when things get even weirder. She says she was told flat out that she was not allowed in the building without her advocate. And to her, this made absolutely no sense. I mean, any citizen should have the right to walk into a public courthouse and file a piece of paper. So here's how this whole thing just explodes. Gaetani goes inside anyway, a clerk immediately confronts her repeating that she was told to wait for Pam. Gaetani just says, I'm coming in and asks if they're refusing to take her motion. When they say yes, that's the tipping point. She pulls out her phone and says, okay, I'm recording this. And that's when she claims one of the clerks charges at her and starts screaming for security. A scene like that, it doesn't just happen in a vacuum, right? There's a reason for it. To really get the stakes here and to understand why Gaetani felt so desperate that day, we've got to rewind. We have to look at what triggered this whole chain of events in the first place. And it all comes down to a massive data leak. So what's this all about? At the heart of everything is the release of Gaetani's personal phone data. And we're not talking about a few text messages. We're talking about a complete extraction of her entire digital life. And when I say massive, I mean, it's hard to even wrap your head around. But it boils down to this one number. That's right, 15, 15 years of her life completely unredacted taken from her phone and handed over to the defense team in a case where she was a key witness. 15 years. And look, we're not just talking about old text messages here. This is the stuff you don't want anyone to see: medical records, social security numbers, private conversations she had with her lawyers, even bank passwords and her kids' birth certificates. It was just as she puts it, her entire life completely exposed. But you know what the real kicker was for her? It wasn't just that it happened, but how it happened. She claims she was specifically promised that this kind of private information would be protected. So you can imagine the shock, the disbelief when she found out the leak came from the Commonwealth itself, the very people she thought had her back. So what do you do when the system meant to protect you is the one that throws you to the wolves? Well, according to Gaetani, what came next was just a series of broken promises, and a whole lot of nothing. This is what she says the special prosecutor Ken Mello told her. Right in the middle of this crisis, he apparently promised he would file a protective order—that's a legal move to get her data back—and then he would fix it. And for a second, she probably felt a little relief, like, okay, someone's finally going to help me. But that relief, it was short-lived. The next day came and went, and then a few more days, and then weeks started to pass, and still nothing. No protective order was ever filed. All of her most private data was just out there. And the help she was promised never came. So you can see how this played out, according to her. Mello makes this big promise on day one. Then all she's told to do is make a list of everything sensitive on her phone. But as the weeks drag on, nothing gets filed. And then she gets the final blow. She's told Mello was sick, and he's off the case. And just like that, she was completely on her own. And that's what brings motion in hand to that courthouse. Okay, so let's jump back to that day at the courthouse. The scene in the clerk's office has just gone down, security has been called, and Gaetani is, as you can imagine, a complete mess. Then a court officer steps in, and she says he was incredibly kind. He actually calms her down. He listens to her, and he somehow manages to get her a spot to talk to the judge, Judge Rayburn, at a sidebar during the hearing. It finally seems like she's going to get her chance to explain everything. But the second she gets up there, before she can say a single word about her data or her motion, she says the judge just lays into her. This quote, she claims, is the very first thing Judge Rayburn said to her: Taking the clerk's side of the story as pure fact. And you can just imagine how that must have felt. Completely blindsided. Defeated. I mean, how do you even begin to argue with the judge? How do you prove that the clerks, people the judge works with day in and day out, were, from your point of view, not telling the truth? She says she felt like she had no choice but to just stand there and take it. So let's just recap the outcome here, from her point of view. It was a total disaster. Her whole goal was to get a protective order and get her data back. The ruling was that the defense could keep it. Her goal was to be heard as a witness trying to protect her own privacy. The outcome was her getting reprimanded for what happened in the clerk's office. She went in looking for protection and walked out feeling like she was the one who did something wrong. You'd think that would be the end of it, right? But nope. This is where the story takes another really strange turn that just raises a whole new set of questions about what was going on behind the scenes. So sometime later, she gets this phone call out of the blue from someone named Kate Peter. And during their conversation, Kate casually mentions that she heard something had happened down in the clerk's office that day. And that's the million-dollar question, isn't it? Lindsey is absolutely certain that the courthouse foyer was empty. The only people who saw what went down were her and the clerks. So how in the world could Kate know any of the details? Well, the answer Kate apparently gave her is just wow. She says that Jen McCabe has a cousin who works as a clerk right there in that specific office. Okay, so get this. Lindsey says she brings this up publicly. And remember, Jen McCabe is a central witness in the big case. And McCabe denies it, says she doesn't have a cousin there. Who this leaves Lindsey with two possible trails for how the story got out. Theory A, Kate was telling the truth. And the story went from a clerk to her cousin Jen McCabe and then to Kate. Or Theory B, the clerks told the advocate Pam Friedman, who then told Detective Brian Tully, who then told Jen McCabe. Either way you slice it, in her mind, the information leak points right back to official channels. And that's where her story leaves us. With this one final pretty explosive call to action, her whole account just leaves you with these profound questions about privacy, about power, and about the real inner workings of our justice system. And it really makes you wonder, just how deep does this whole thing go?

🧵Imagine being a mother on a peaceful afternoon, January 10, 2024. It's 2:00 P.M. in the afternoon, and you're caring for your year-old baby boy, preparing his bottle. He's nestled in his swing, watching Ms. Rachel on the television. Everything is peaceful and calm. But in an abrupt, heart-stopping 15 seconds, tranquility is about to be shattered, turning your world into unimaginable chaos. Then, a thunderous knock shatters the silence as the clock ticks to 2:12 pm. This is a scary and heartbreaking story about a mother named Courtney and her son, Waylon. Courtney anticipated her uncle coming home around that time and thought he was playing a joke on her when she heard the pounding on the door UNTIL she approached the door. But as she reached the top of the steps, she realized this wasn’t a joke or her uncle, but it was a gang of about twenty police officers. In a whirlwind of confusion, the door violently bursts open, windows shatter, and the room fills with armed officers pointing guns at them. Courtney, frozen in shock while seeing the world around her erupt into chaos. Guns are pointed in every direction, and a thick smoke begins to engulf the room, threatening to swallow Waylon in his swing. Out of fear for her baby boy, she screamed for her baby, pleading for his safety, emphasizing his fragile state on a ventilator. But her pleas were ignored, and she was roughly grabbed, pulled out of the house, and handcuffed. Despite her cries, the officers inside the house showed no concern for Waylon. Over twenty of them were present, yet not one stopped to check on the baby or remove him from the dangerous smoke and debris. The SWAT team arrived with two medics, but their cursory check failed to grasp the severity of Waylon's condition. The negligence is appalling – Waylon, who was already vulnerable due to his prematurity and dependence on a ventilator, is left amidst chaos and danger. Courtney's aunt, Redia Jenning, also shared her perspective on this horrifying incident. She stated on Facebook that she and her husband, Marlon, were at work when their home was mistakenly raided by a SWAT team. The home’s security footage captures the terrifying scene – the police never gave Courtney a chance to open the door. Redia’s heart dropped when she saw Waylon’s condition; a baby boy already fighting health challenges is now struggling for his life in the PICU. His delicate lungs, which had shown signs of recovery, are now inflamed and infected due to the chemical exposure. He has sustained chemical burns on his body and around his eyes. Waylon's medical progress, including a planned open-heart surgery, is now heartbreakingly set back. Courtney and her family will be seeking justice and need to replace Waylon’s medical equipment as soon as possible. I’m asking that you all share this story with anyone you can to help Courtney and her family get justice and everything they need for baby Waylon. Thank You. #JusticeForWaylon

A South African family is facing physical violence, death threats, legal retaliation, and systemic failure. Their last hope may be U.S. refugee protection. Here are the details: While filming a documentary in South Africa, I interviewed Delia Byliefeldt—a mother and state witness in a case involving police misconduct. In 2021, she and her husband fled from armed hijackers and ran for help into a local police station. Instead of protecting them, SAPS did nothing. What followed was an assault inside the station BY THE HIGHJACKERS who SAPS allowed into the building. An attempt by SAPS to coverup the blatant corruption followed- they confiscated her husband’s phone and attempted to take hers upon realization that she documented the crime. Delia captured it on video. (See Below) Since then, her family has endured nonstop harassment: – Repeated death threats – Two associated individuals from the case have been murdered – Armed men arriving at their home – Ongoing legal intimidation – An attempted murder on her husbands life Her next court testimony is June 2– She has expressed to me and others that she fears she won’t live to see it. Her husband—also a victim in the original attack—is now facing criminal charges that civil rights groups say are baseless, as THEY were the actual victims, not SAPS nor the armed high-jackers. If convicted, he could be imprisoned in a system that can only be described as compromised. They applied for U.S. refugee protection under a policy meant to fast-track urgent, life-threatening cases. They have had no luck or additional contact from the U.S. I’m not here to litigate the entire justice system. But when a family produces evidence of abuse, faces retaliation, and follows the correct channels for asylum—and still gets no response—that’s a problem. This isn’t about politics or what side of the ideological spectrum you may be on— It’s about a principle: If we have systems designed to protect people in danger, they should work before tragedy strikes. If this family vanishes—into silence, into prison, or into a grave—it won’t be because no one knew. It’ll be because no one acted. I hope someone at Department of State Homeland Security USCIS President Donald J. Trump will consider reviewing this case. It’s complex, yes—but the danger to this family is clear.

WARNING LISTEN WITH CAUTION! A Radio Drama That Still Breaks Something Inside You - The Cold Equations X Minus One, August 1955 It begins like so many dreams of the frontier. A young girl with brown curls, blue eyes, and a cheap pair of sandals slips aboard an Emergency Dispatch Ship. She hides in a supply locker with a small bag and a heart full of hope. Her name is Marilyn Lee Cross. She is eighteen. She only wants to see her brother. The ship is barely more than a stripped-down shell a precise machine built for one purpose: deliver serum to a fever-ravaged survey crew on the planet Woden before they die. Every ounce of fuel has been calculated. Every kilogram of mass accounted for. There are no margins. There is no room for stories, for surprise, for love. When the pilot, Barton, opens the locker and finds her smiling up at him, the universe tilts. His blaster falls from his hand. For a moment the cold equations of spaceflight collide with something warmer and infinitely more fragile: a living, breathing person who never meant any harm. She explains, shy and excited at once. She stowed away because the next regular ship would not arrive for another year. She wanted to surprise her brother. She brought a pretty dress. She thought the rules would be like the ones back on Earth. They are not. The commander’s voice comes over the radio, flat and final. Her extra weight — one hundred and ten pounds of girl, dreams, and cheap perfume — will consume the last of the fuel during the critical deceleration burn. The ship will not slow in time. It will either crash or miss its window entirely. The serum will never reach the dying men. Sixteen lives will be lost instead of one. There is no rescue. The mothership is already committed to hyperspace. No other vessel is within forty light-years. The math is not cruel. It simply does not care. Marilyn does not understand at first. She offers to pay a fine. She promises to work, to cook, to stay out of the way. When the truth finally lands, she sags “small and limp like a little rag doll.” Her voice breaks on the simplest, most devastating question: “Is that it? Just that the ship doesn’t have enough fuel?” Yes. The pilot reduces thrust to buy her a little more time. He lets her write letters to her family. He patches her through to her brother one last time as Woden’s rotation carries the signal away. She tries to sound brave. She tells Gerry not to feel bad. She only wanted to see him. Then the line goes dead. The airlock is small. She walks into it with her head up. She says she is ready. The pilot’s hand hovers over the control. There is a hiss, a sudden drop in mass on the gauges, and then only the steady hum of the ship continuing on its necessary course. She is gone. Why This 1955 Radio Play Still Haunts Us X Minus One delivered the story on a summer night in 1955 with nothing but voices, sound effects, and the listener’s imagination. No CGI. No swelling orchestral score to soften the blow. Just the quiet horror of a young woman realizing the universe keeps its books in a currency she cannot pay. That is precisely why it cuts deeper now than it did then. We like to believe we have moved beyond such brutal arithmetic. We have AI that can model entire economies, climate systems, and human behavior. Yet the cold equations have not disappeared. They have only changed their clothing. Today an algorithm decides whose résumé is seen and whose is silently discarded. Another model determines who receives a loan, who is flagged for extra scrutiny, whose medical scan is prioritized. In autonomous vehicles the trolley problem is no longer philosophical — it is code. In the hot summer of 1955 this heartbreaking broadcast captivated us, before we left the planet. Today it just is even harder. With just spoken words we have a picture of innocence and calculations that paint a bigger picture than any big screen could have. It painted in our hearts and our souls.

This is the pen of Leah, the morning after her first night's sleep here. Every black dot you see is a tick. They are black because they're full of her blood, and growing. (This is one of the reasons why I have only white bedding and floor coverings. If she was in newspaper you'd never see this). Poor little Leah is absolutely smothered in hundreds of ticks, and has fleas, too. Despite the old wives' tale, it's very rare for a hedgehog to have fleas. So rare in fact, that a professor of entomology who studies these sorts of things pays me £20 a go when I send him fleas. Additionally, hedgehog fleas are species-specific, so they can't infest or live on any other animal. A hedgehog has to be seriously ill or incredibly weak to attract ectoparasites such as ticks and fleas. And poor Leah is that weak - she is suffering from starvation, AND she has just given birth. A couple clearing out their shed found poor little Leah huddled with her babies in a pile of blankets, where she'd given birth. They live in army barracks, and their garden is tiny, with no suitable hedgehog habitat. Everywhere is kept 'neat'. Despite this, somehow Leah survived. With a shed substituting for a hedgerow and army blankets instead of leaves and moss, Leah managed to make a maternity nest and have her precious babies. But with no food, she was unable to produce enough milk to feed them, and one by one, the babies died. By the time she was found, out of the 7 babies she had given birth to, only 3 were still alive. I saw the bodies so could tell how many days they had survived. The lovely finders had no idea that things were so desperate for our hedgehogs, and that the dramatic decline in insects, due to the way we are 'tidying' our gardens, meant that they are now suffering starvation. Hedgehogs don't eat slugs and snails, they eat beetles and catapillars. Caterpillars make up almost half a hedgehog's diet, and their emergence is perfectly timed with peak baby season, the time of most need. We're in June, peak butterfly time, but how many have you seen lately? Like most people, the finders were completely unaware of how our bad destructive habits are impacting our precious wildlife, until seeing it with their own eyes. They are now committed to improving not just their garden, but the whole Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, and went home armed with leaflets and kitten biscuits and determination. Meanwhile poor tick infested Leah and her 3 surviving babies are safe and warm here, and she's getting good nourishment and care. It's so important these tiny 5 day old babies don't fall victim to the ticks, as they would not survive. I can't use drugs or chemicals as Leah is far too weak and her babies far too vulnerable. So it's just a matter of cleaning her out every day - the very last thing to be subjecting a new mum to. Despite all her hardship, and me meddling, she's a wonderful mum and doing her best to nurture her sweet babies. Last night, her first night here, she ate an entire dish of special Mother and Baby food - enough normally for 2 or 3 hedgehogs. The sight of that empty dish absolutely broke me. It's too early for a prognosis on Leah and the babies, but already, because of them, her little part of the world is going to become more hedgehog-friendly.

Last Monday, on the 18th of May, at around 6am, one of our own became a victim of the very thing we are trying to raise awareness about. She was violently carjacked by machete-wielding African youth in Victoria. Bat Hasbara had stopped at the laundromat in Keysborough to dry her work jacket on the way to work. She was waiting out the front in her car when she was confronted by an aggressive African man who opened her car door and aggressively attempted to drag her out. She fought back and tried to push and kick him away while he threw several punches at her face and body. Another African man then approached the altercation armed with a machete. Although she put up a fight, they managed to violently drag her out and took off in her car, which contained all of her belongings-her phone, credit cards, identification, and keys to her home. Thankfully, onlookers heard the noise and ran over to help her. There were no serious injuries, but due to their aggressive and violent nature, she is quite badly bruised and scratched up. She has had to change the locks on her house and, thankfully, already had a security and camera system installed. She is understandably still shaken up but wanted her story shared to help raise awareness. Police reports were filed and her car has now been located. The car wasn’t smashed or set on fire-it was just dumped after they’d had their fun. Her phone and credit cards were also located and had been thrown away, which goes to show these weren’t poor struggling immigrants who attacked for monetary gain. This was African machete violence and theft committed by two men aged between 16 and 20. Why? Because they can and they know they get away with it due to a weak court system. This was an opportunistic, violent, and aggressive crime committed by foreigners who prove time and time again that they do not belong here, nor do they deserve a chance at a better life in our country. We have become so desensitised to these attacks constantly happening, especially in Victoria. We speak about them in our spaces, make posts about them, and see them on the news. But when it happens to you or someone you know, it’s a scary reminder of just how real this problem actually is. We need to get louder. We need to make more noise, because the reality is that any one of us could be next. The only thing that will fix this is removing those who do not belong. We need instant deportations of criminal immigrants and the remigration of foreigners. We deserve to feel safe in our own country. Please share this post to help raise awareness about the state of our country. #MacheteViolence #Crime #AfricanGangs #FightForAustralia #FFA #MFA #MarchForAustralia

🇳🇱🔴 "It wasn't a German man. It was an Iraqi who had applied for asylum in Germany." 14-year-old girl Tamar from the Dutch city of Marken was hit and killed by an Iraqi driver while she was walking on a road in July 2020. Here is her mother telling Dutch media that the police lied to her and told her the suspect was a "German" because they did not want the case to support right-wing politician Geert Wilders. The prosecution even dropped the case. For political reasons? The family will never know, but the Iraqi, Jamal T., is finally being brought to court and tried after her parents fought for years for his prosecution. In fact, it was discovered that all four men in the car had an Iraqi background. When she learned this information, she told Dutch media that the police responded that they had withheld the real background “because we didn’t want to create a Wilders-effect.” She described this as a “second blow” after losing her child, emphasizing that they should have been honest rather than offering “political excuses.” The driver did not just flee the scene in Zeedijk, but evidence suggests that her body was moved at the scene of the accident. He claimed, however, that he never noticed hitting the girl, saying he thought he hit “something” but did not know it was a human. Nevertheless, Tamar was hit so hard by the impact that the coroner said she died instantly. Despite driving away from the scene of the girl’s death, he was given only a €1,500 fine for looking at his phone while driving. However, he was not even delivered the fine, as he disappeared and the fine was “undeliverable” for years. The family finally took matters into their own hands. They filed an Article 12 procedure, a legal mechanism allowing citizens to challenge a prosecutor’s refusal to take a case to trial. Now, finally, after six years, the 33-year-old Iraqi is being prosecuted for the fatal accident and fleeing the scene. Police and prosecutors lied to the entire family for “political reasons” to hide the identity of the killer, according to the mother. Then, the family had to take matters into their own hands to force the case to trial. The European legal system at work.

An update on Maya Gebala (Tumbler Ridge) From her mom Cia **Additional info regarding Ronalds house. Charity funds, and Cvap and added at the bottom** Hey Everyone. Here comes another long one...... Ive wanted to write an update for quite sometime.. I just, dont really know what to say I guess. I know alot of my posts seem to be deep in despair. Truth is though, I simply can't afford to give up in faith. Its all I have left. People ask me, regularly, is Maya okay? -I suppose- If Okay is the mid line on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being dead 10 being thriving... I suppose okay would suffice. The Maya I see everyday currently, to the Maya i spent the past 12 years observing and attempting to tame into civility, are vastly different. Through the eyes of pure unwavering love, It feels like a crime to say "shes okay" The Maya I had the pleasure to watch blossom.. like a volcano.. The brave, confident force of nature. Was rarely sick for school. Had deep burning empathy. She understood more of the world and the people around her, then she probably should at her age.. Now.... Now, I imagine she is a goldfish, floating in the small aquarium that is her own body. Observing. She cant communicate. Or articulate feelings. Her eyes tell me she is in there still. So, is she "okay"? What IS okay? The adrenaline and consistent wave of hope and despair in the beginning brought feelings that made the scale of comparison easy to articulate. And then now. We have only time. Endless time. Uncertainty. Faith(?) And fear.... Her cranialplasty went well. No further signs of infection, crisis averted. She is healing incredibly well. Myself, as a mother, stood on a platform of maternal vigilance. Now I can ... what.... relax? Now that her life doesn't hang in the fragile threads of moments and possibilities, I'm left with the mountain of broken pieces that was once our lives.. The dishes from a sunday dinner, left forgotten until tomorrow. Time to deal with the mess. We were plucked from our small town lives and dropped collectively in a new life, broken and battered. A now past life, where i once ran a business. where my daughters spent most their little lives walking the streets 'hanging at moms shop' Where everyone knows you, and most welcome you. Where there are many more trees then cars, and if you heard sirens at night, you likely knew who they were for. In the silence of unrelenting "wait and see" we pick up the pieces, and start over. A new normal. A new place. A new shade of jade. It has been nearly impossible to aquire housing. knowing she will likely be in a wheelchair. To know that there is a good chance that her level of consciousness can still continue to develop and all I want to do is protect my children from the busy noise and sirens that is the city. One day she might ask what happened. One day i may have to tell her. I hope to protect the peace. I hope to create an imaginary parallel to the life they were forced to abandon. It is difficult... if not impossible. For a while little Dahlia and I stayed in a series of airbnbs, thinking we would find a home soon. She needed her mom. I felt all I could give that resembled any sort of 'life' was a bedroom.. and breakfast together. Under the implication that victim services would cover accomodations and expenses as they offer on the government website. A service intended to support families who have been subject to the wreckage of a hanous and violent crime. We dont qualify. The list of potential benefits covered for truamatized families searching for a new normal in an unthinkable situation. We arent covered. Turns out, legislation is written in such a way, we dont qualify. So all and any expenses are left to be fulfilled by any organizations holding donations, that has litterally saved us so far.. So, with that, accomodations have become too much, and we live between the back of my car and a couch in the hospital. Hoping we find a place that fits all our requirements sometime soon. Then what? Prepare for the worst, yet hope for the best, they say. What if maya needs round the clock care? How do I work... how does LIFE work. I live moment to moment in a sea of maybe's with no solid ground to rest our feet. Running in place. Fantasizing over possibilities that seem just barely out of reach. The carrot on the stick. We have had some incredible opportunities surface, we seemed to have stumbled on a 'school' type structure in a horse stable... no walls. No familiarity... Perfect for now. It is exactly what she needed. So... I still keep faith. We never went to LA.. for anyone who believed we did, it just didnt happen. There was too much uncertainty and her state was to fragile to have the travel was worth the risk.. in all honesty I think I pulled the trigger on that post to early, although I didn't see it that way at the time -my bad. We are now, however, researching neurospecific hospitals world wide for advanced treatment, if we find one she may qualify for, we would rather go broke taking any potential avenues available, then walk the arduous path of "wait and see". So.. we are okay. We are all okay. If Okay was the mid line on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being dead. 10 being thriving. We are the epitome of Okay.. Mya Maya. My goldfish baby, as Ive been calling her.. Dumbed down to a state of pre-evolution, her gold fish state. All I can hope is, one day she finds the means to sprout legs and walk out of her pond. Like the images in those old 90's science books.. I continue to pray she evolves.. I hope the path to a new normal starts to become clear. We just.... wait and see. Xoxo (( **Edit: To address question about the Ronald Mcdonald House. We do have a room there.. one per family. Dahlia was abruptly forced to abandon her entire life, while simultaneously grappling with the news that some of her friends were dead, and confronted daily thay her fearless leader is a goldfish.. I didnt find it healthy that her only available.friends were more vulnerable children. She loves fiercely, but im terrified for her. I basically gave the room to david and his family that comes.quite frequently to help. The airbnbs and couch surfing, id assumed to be short.lived as he hunt for homes..** **CHARITY FUNDS. YES. The pac charity. The Red Cross. There are other charities available we can pull from. However, with having toforfeit my shop, the outrageous cost of housing, medical equipment, and not knowing how or if I can ever work again, using any of that for overpriced short term stays seems very unreasonable. 2 weeks in a hotel or Airbnb is a months rent. There are financial resources. As our future looks now, maya will need mechanical slings, ramps, stair lifts. A van, a special tub, and potentially at home care... all of that combined is well over 200k in a year... That coupled with 2500 a month in rent, and everyday living. These alotted funds need to stretch us as long as possible. With 6k a month in home care for maya and 2500 a month in rent, its scary fast it Will go. I will.likely need to upgrade some courses and find new work. Its alot and the future is unknown. So with the government sector offering to cover "accomodations" it didnt seem so reckless. I wouldnt want to spend a lifeline like these funds, on expensive short term stays, but with that seemingly the only option, we will just keep looking for a home.** **Also In regards to Victim services. I hope no one calls to raise hell on our behalf, it isnt the employees, it is the legislature. We could tell today during our meeting that they wanted to help. The guidelines to these benefits are restricting, there simply is no place for us.. The change needs bigger then an exemption. It needs to be for the people.** Thank you for your love and passion though.

From ICU Prisoner to Survivor: Gail Seiler’s Rescue by Her Husband Huckleberry Watch full interview here👇👇👇 In December 2021, 54-year-old Gail Seiler entered Medical City Plano in Collin County, Texas, seeking medical help. Instead, she found herself trapped in a system designed not to heal, but to harm. Like so many across the nation, Gail became a target of the government-backed COVID protocol, a rigid, profit-driven scheme that stripped patients of dignity, freedom, and choice. From the moment she was admitted, Gail was isolated and cut off from her family. She was deprived of food and water, pressured to sign a Do Not Resuscitate order, and relentlessly pushed toward the “protocol” drugs Remdesivir, diuretics, blood thinners, and other dangerous pharmaceuticals. What she and her family pleaded for, safe and effective options such as antibiotics, vitamins, Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, monoclonals, or even basic nutrition were cruelly denied. Her unvaccinated status marked her for disdain, neglect, and discriminatory treatment. The cruelest betrayal came when Gail was told she would only be permitted last rites from her Priest if she agreed to take Remdesivir, a drug she had refused. It was spiritual blackmail using her faith against her at the most vulnerable moment of her life. To get her Priest by her bedside, she submitted to a single dose, but she knew in her heart it was not given for healing. It was coercion, a tactic seen in countless testimonies, where patients were forced into dangerous drugs through threats, deception, or outright manipulation. After her Priest was finished she told them she would not take any more Remdesivir. Her condition rapidly declined. Gail’s family watched in horror as she was starved, dehydrated, and denied the very care that could save her. Doctors told her to prepare to die. She was not treated as a human being in need of compassion but like an animal or a number in a protocol pipeline. But Gail’s story did not end there. When her husband, Brad “Huckleberry” Seiler, realized they were killing his wife, he took action. Brad stormed into the ICU determined to rescue her. Hospital administrators called the police. What followed was a standoff inside the very place meant to preserve life, officers threatening Brad for trying to save his own wife, siding with the institution instead of with humanity. The hospital had become a prison, guarded not by doctors but by armed enforcement of policies that were never about patient care. Brad refused to leave without Gail. His courage, combined with their daughter’s resolve, ultimately got Gail released. Against every obstacle the hospital threw at them, Brad and their daughter took Gail home. There, away from the grip of Medical City Plano, they administered the very treatments she had been denied: budesonide, ivermectin, vitamins, supplements, real medicine, proper nutrition, hydration, and loving care. Within days, Gail began to recover. She survived, not because of the hospital, but in spite of it. Today, Gail Seiler lives to tell this story, and she has dedicated her life to making sure no other family endures what hers did. As a volunteer and President of Betrayal Project USA, she leads a movement of survivors, widows, widowers, and bereaved families who are exposing the truth about these crimes against humanity. Together, they are documenting victim testimonies, demanding accountability, and building a national community of support and reform. Gail’s survival is not just a personal victory, but a living testimony to the resilience of families who fought back against a system that sought to erase them. Her story reveals the darkest truths: hospitals isolated patients, starved them, coerced them into toxic drugs, pressured them to sign away their rights, and even used law enforcement to enforce death-dealing policies. These were not isolated tragedies. They were part of a coordinated, profit-driven scheme that killed hundreds of thousands under the guise of public health. This cannot be ignored. These are egregious crimes against humanity. They must be stopped. Betrayal Project USA was founded by victims, for victims. We exist so stories like Gail’s are heard, honored, and preserved and so the system that allowed this betrayal is held to account. If you or a loved one has been harmed by COVID hospital protocols, shots, or policies, we urge you: document your story. Visit and add your voice to the growing chorus demanding justice, reform, and an end to institutional betrayal. Because what happened to Gail and to millions of others must never be allowed to happen again. This Memorial Wall is dedicated to victims of Medical Betrayal, those who lost their lives due to COVID-19 hospital protocols, in hospice and nursing homes, Covid shots and through other forms of institutional harm. We reject the narrative that these lives were simply lost to illness and stand to ensure their stories are seen, heard, and remembered.👇👇👇 🌟 aka Huckleberry (Brad) Betrayal Project USA Ronald F. Cowboy Carter Tour Review (Spoilers, sorta kinda 😭) Where do I even begin?! NoBODY right now is doing what Beyoncé is doing, I’m sorry! I’ve been to many of the bigger-name shows y’all would mention off rip and while they were good, they weren’t GRAND. A lot of artists put on shows and simply perform. Beyoncé runs a finely tuned machine that’s powered by her raw talent. It’s magical. Every little detail is intentional. From the lighting that hits your skin and reacts to a hi-hat, a lyric, or a moment, it’s designed to make your senses feel seen. Your spiritual spotlight. Then there’s the visuals (and yes, the visuals are going to EAT). She’s not just entertaining you, she’s teaching you, alarming you and most importantly, sharing with you. From the aesthetics and diverse representation of her dancers, singers, and bands, it’s much deeper than you think. It felt like she took us through time: nods to MJ, James Brown, Tina, Prince, to modernized elements like Renaissance. I’ve never seen a stage that massive used so perfectly, in every detailed and intimate way. You feel like you’re inside her jukebox. The interludes? Not too long at all and stunning. The moment you go to sit (if you even try), she’s back up. A 3-hour show that somehow feels like an hour and a half. We stood the entire time, didn’t even leave for the bathroom, barely recorded anything. We were locked in, absorbing everything. She cares so deeply about her audience that even when she rides the car out to wave, it feels personal. Watching the smiles on the faces of all ages and backgrounds, just getting lost in gratitude as she waved over our heads? Whew. I was next to an older Southeast Asian couple in their 50s (they were HAVING a time last night, I tell you, cig in hand 🚬, I was like okk). She had grown married men screaming, fanning, glowing in joy beside their wives. All love. No judgment. We were just living. WITH THE CLIPS floating online, it might seem like this show is for her babies, Rumi and especially Blue. And yes, it may be for her personally, but let’s be clear: this is a Beyoncé show, PERIOD. She masterfully includes Blue in a way that feels complimentary and loving, not centered. If that makes sense. By the end, you forget Blue was even on stage that long because it feels like just 15 minutes. But Blue, wow! The talent that's emerging.. whew! 😩😤Both parents’ otherworldly talent and her own special gifts. Speechless. 🎁 Beyoncé is PERFORMING. Cut all that noise. She IS. And anyone who went to the show will tell you, age ain’t nothing but a number. Beyoncé is a beast at her craft and said, “Let me show y’all how this is done.” Knee surgery or not, this superhuman is unstoppable. 💡Like MJ, Prince, Tina, Whitney, her talent makes her one of the greatest musical superhumans of our time. You can’t buy or replicate this kind of gift. It’s in you, in her. Highlight: Now let’s talk VOCALS. BEYONCÉ… your VOICE? I have no words. Can we get a billion-dollar insurance policy on her throat?! 😭😩 We need scientists to study this woman’s voice! I’m not doing too much. When I say… her voice? I’m almost afraid to even speak on it because I cherish it so much. But what I will say is, thank you, God, for giving her that gift. Not just to heal herself but to help heal the world. And yes, she’s doing that. As someone who lost my sense of self nearly two years ago when my entire world shattered, when my Mom transitioned, Cowboy Carter healed a part of me I’d been searching for. It reminded me who the f**k I am. Thank you, Beyoncé. Ty. 🫡 Salud. This show MUST be seen in person. No livestream, no video is going to match this otherworldly experience. Maybe a concert film could come close because she’s a visionary genius but this is the kind of concert we’ll hear about in future documentaries. I’m not exaggerating. I promise you. Go see that damn concert! Beyoncé, you owe me nothing. Act III is about to devour. 😉 Y’all, Beyoncé is the GOAT.

In Remembrance of Marilyn Monroe on her 100th Birthday Born | June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, California, USA Probably the most celebrated of all actresses, Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, in the charity ward of the Los Angeles General Hospital. Her mother, Gladys Pearl (Monroe), was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, to American parents from Indiana and Missouri, and was a film-cutter at Consolidated Film Industries. Marilyn's biological father has been established through DNA testing as Charles Stanley Gifford, who had been born in Newport, Rhode Island, to a family with deep roots in the state. Marilyn grew up not knowing for sure who her father really was. Gladys gave Norma Jeane the name of Baker. Poverty was a constant companion to Gladys and Norma. Gladys, who was extremely attractive and later worked for R.K.O. Studios, suffered from mental illness and was in and out of mental institutions for the rest of her life, and because of that Norma Jeane spent time in foster homes. When she was nine, she was placed in an orphanage where she was to stay for the next two years. Upon being released from the orphanage, she went to yet another foster home. In 1942, at sixteen years old, Norma Jeane married twenty-one-year-old aircraft plant worker James Dougherty. The marriage lasted only four years, and they divorced in 1946. By this time, Marilyn began to model swimsuits and bleached her hair blonde. Various shots made their way into the public eye, where some were eventually seen by R.K.O. Pictures head Howard Hughes. He offered Marilyn a screen test, but an agent suggested that 20th Century-Fox would be the better choice for her, since it was a much bigger and more prestigious studio. She was signed to a contract at $125 per week for a six-month period and that was increased by $25 per week at the end of that time when her contract was lengthened. Her first film was in 1947 with a bit part in The Shocking Miss Pilgrim (1947). Her next production was not much better, a bit in the forgettable Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hay! (1948). Two of the three brief scenes in which she appeared wound up on the cutting room floor. Later that same year, she was given a somewhat better role as Evie in Dangerous Years (1947). However, Fox declined to renew her contract, so she went back to modeling and acting school. Columbia Pictures then picked her up to play Peggy Martin in Ladies of the Chorus (1948), where she sang three numbers. Notices from the critics were favorable for her, if not the film, but Columbia dropped her. Once again Marilyn returned to modeling. In 1949, she appeared in United Artists' Love Happy (1949). It was also that same year she posed nude for the now famous calendar shot which was later to appear in Playboy magazine in 1953 and further boost her career. She would be the first centerfold in that magazine's long and illustrious history. The next year proved to be a good year for Marilyn. She appeared in five films, but the good news was that she received very good notices for her roles in two of them, The Asphalt Jungle (1950) from MGM and All About Eve (1950) from Fox. Even though both roles were basically not much more than bit parts, movie fans remembered her dizzy but very sexy blonde performance. In 1951, Marilyn got a fairly sizable role in Love Nest (1951). The public was now getting to know her and liked what it saw. She had an intoxicating quality of volcanic sexuality wrapped in an aura of almost childlike innocence. In 1952, Marilyn appeared in Don't Bother to Knock (1952), in which she played a somewhat mentally unbalanced babysitter. Critics didn't particularly care for her work in this picture, but she made a much more favorable impression later in the year in Monkey Business (1952), where she was seen for the first time as a platinum blonde, a look that became her trademark. The next year, she appeared in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) as Lorelei Lee. It was also the same year she began dating the baseball great Joe DiMaggio. Marilyn was now a genuine box-office drawing card. Later, she appeared with Betty Grable, Lauren Bacall, and Rory Calhoun in How to Marry a Millionaire (1953). Although her co-stars got the rave reviews, it was the sight of Marilyn that really excited the audience, especially the male members. On Thursday, January 14th, 1954, Marilyn wed DiMaggio, then proceeded to film There's No Business Like Show Business (1954). That was quickly followed by The Seven Year Itch (1955), which showcased her considerable comedic talent and contained what is arguably one of the most memorable moments in cinema history: Marilyn standing above a subway grating and the wind from a passing subway blowing her white dress up. By October 1954, Marilyn announced her divorce from DiMaggio (though the divorce was not finalised until October 31, 1955). In 1955, she was suspended by Fox for not reporting for work on How to Be Very, Very Popular (1955). It was her second suspension, the first being for not reporting for the production of The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing (1955). Both roles went to others. Her work was slowing down, due to her habit of being continually late to the set, her illnesses (whether real or imagined) and generally being unwilling to cooperate with her producers, directors, and fellow actors. However in Bus Stop (1956), Marilyn finally showed critics that she could play a straight dramatic role. It was also the same year she married playwright Arthur Miller. (They divorced January 20, 1961.) In 1957, Marilyn flew to Britain to film The Prince and the Showgirl (1957), which proved less than impressive critically and financially. It made money, but many critics panned it for being slow-moving. After a year off in 1958, Marilyn returned to the screen the next year for the delightful comedy, Some Like It Hot (1959) with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. The film was an absolute smash hit, with Curtis and Lemmon pretending to be females in an all-girl band, so they can get work. This was to be Marilyn's only film for the year. In 1960, Marilyn appeared in George Cukor's Let's Make Love (1960) with Tony Randall and Yves Montand. Again, while it made money, it was critically panned as stodgy and slow-moving. The following year, Marilyn made what was to be her final film, The Misfits (1961), which also proved to be the final film for the legendary Clark Gable, who died later that year of a heart attack. The film was popular with critics and the public alike. In 1962, Marilyn was chosen to star in Fox's Something's Got to Give (1962). Again, her absenteeism caused delay after delay in production, resulting in her being fired from the production in June of that year. It looked as though her career was finished. Studios just didn't want to take a chance on her because it would cost them thousands of dollars in delays. She was only 36 years old. Marilyn remains a pop culture icon, with the American Film Institute ranking her as the sixth-greatest female screen legend from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Marilyn acted in only thirty films, but her legendary status and mysticism will remain with film history for ever.
