I will sign a security pact between Lebanon and the United States, because the United States is the only real influence on Israel. I want to pursue peace. Today, the United States has an excellent relationship with Syria and President Sharaa, and it also maintains an excellent relationship with Israel. If I am positioned between these two countries, then, as far as I am concerned, it is in my interest for the United States to accept me as a member of its regional security coalition. In that case, the whole region could live more peacefully and securely. This would be my first request. Once we achieve that, the government must do its own work in terms of reforms—supporting legislation and implementing necessary changes. Our teams – of Ukraine and the United States – will work on the provisions of the plan to end the war. We are ready for constructive, honest and swift work. I also informed him separately about Russia’s horrific strike on Ternopil. The Kh-101 missile that the Russian army used yesterday to hit an ordinary residential building was manufactured in 2025. It contains 175 foreign components that are still reaching Russia in circumvention of sanctions. We count on the support of the United States in restricting all such schemes. I provided Secretary Driscoll with specific data about the companies that manufacture these critical components, their countries of origin, and the components themselves. Peace is needed, and we appreciate the efforts of President Trump and his team aimed at restoring security in Europe. Ukraine defends lives and independence thanks to the courage of our people, our unity within the state, and the assistance from our partners. Humanity at its best. Today, a 3-year-old child who accidentally fell into a borewell in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, was rescued safely by the brave personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). These heroes come from different states, speak different languages, and belong to different communities—but when it came to saving a child’s life, they stood united as Indians. They did not ask about caste, religion, or region. Their only mission was to save a precious life. This is the true spirit of India—a beautiful bouquet of diverse flowers bound together by humanity and national unity. A humble message to those who treat the people from other states with hatred. Rising desperation due to acute hunger witnessed during joint mission by World Health Organization (WHO), UN Humanitarian, UNICEF, World Central Kitchen to hospitals in north #Gaza; partners demand immediate scale-up of food and water to ensure population health and stability. On 23 December, WHO and partners visited, and delivered supplies to, Al-Shifa Hospital, and visited three other hospitals in multiple convoys. We thank UN Security and United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) for their support. Al-Shifa was once Gaza’s biggest hospital. But relentless hostilities and massive numbers of wounded people have brought its capacities to its knees. Now, it can only deliver the most basic of first aid. The supply of 19,200 litres of generator fuel delivered Saturday will help revive vital services. However, more will be needed. The hospital’s oxygen plant was destroyed during the hostilities. Al-Shifa is also providing refuge to 50,000 displaced people, according to hospital authorities. Indeed, colleagues saw itssurgery wing and other wards overflowing with Gazans seeking safety and shelter. People there are suffering from hunger, and the risk of famine is real, as it is across Gaza. Amid dire food shortages, the search for food is forcing people into horrible states of hunger and leading some -- out of desperation -- to take supplies from delivery trucks, as occurred during the joint mission. I can only imagine the torment that would drive people to such lengths. Rising desperation due to acute hunger witnessed during joint mission by World Health Organization (WHO), UN Humanitarian, UNICEF, World Central Kitchen to hospitals in north #Gaza; partners demand immediate scale-up of food and water to ensure population health and stability. On 23 December, WHO and partners visited, and delivered supplies to, Al-Shifa Hospital, and visited three other hospitals in multiple convoys. But relentless hostilities and massive numbers of wounded people have brought its capacities to its knees. Now, it can only deliver the most basic of first aid. People there are suffering from hunger, and the risk of famine is real, as it is across Gaza.
