We have 3 shelters in North Bali because of overcrowding in our main shelter. There's a huge problem with dogs that are abandoned, abused and injured 💔 We're not helped by the government or any other organisations. I believe that love is the greatest power there is to produce great results and that the most important decision you can make is who you choose to have loving relationships with. A good love partner, or better yet good love partners (your spouse, your family, your friends, and your business partners) who will care deeply about your wellbeing and help you through your downs as well as your ups is the best thing in life. By love, I mean caring about the person so that their being well feels like your wellbeing. If you have love, or at least empathy, you will have the foundation for harmony, peace, and prosperity—just as if you have hate, you will produce fighting, war, and destruction. All major religions are most fundamentally about how to produce harmony, peace, and prosperity through love and empathy – e.g. “do unto others as you would have them do onto you,” karma, etc. Psychologists have shown that loving communities lead to greater happiness, health, and effectiveness. Love is both joyous and functionally good because 1+1=3. To explain what I mean, a little bit of my help for you can make a big difference in your life just as a little bit of your help for me can make a big difference in my life, so us exchanging these gifts of help give us a lot more than we have alone—and it produces the joy of love on top of that. I need a bigger village. 💗 I’m very sick, and the level of medical care, caregiving, coordination, and day-to-day support I now need has grown beyond what my current support system can realistically provide. I want to be clear: I am not doing this alone. Barry, my family, my caregiver, case managers, doctors, and specialists are already helping tremendously. But they also have jobs, families, and responsibilities of their own. There is simply more to carry than they can reasonably manage. My physical limitations are severe, and cognitive dysfunction makes appointments, paperwork, phone calls, insurance, medications, referrals, and coordinating my own care incredibly difficult. Our home is also not handicap accessible, and we don’t have the financial resources to make the modifications I need or move somewhere accessible. Right now, I have an upcoming trip to Utah to see a specialist who may be able to help me improve my symptoms and functioning—but I cannot safely make the trip alone. Barry has to stay home to work, care for our child, and keep our household running. My family and caregiver aren’t able to accompany me. And there’s another huge barrier: many of the specialists, testing, and treatments that may help me are out of state and completely out-of-pocket because insurance doesn’t cover them. Then there are flights, hotels, transportation, caregiving, and all the other costs required just to access that care. We live with this fear every single day, never knowing what the next moment will bring: will we survive another day, or could we lose our lives at any moment? We have the right to live in safety. My daughter Rafif and my family have the right to a life free from the sounds of bombing, fear, and terror that follow us every moment. I have tried every possible way to find a safe way out of Gaza for my family. A short while ago, we were very close to leaving, but our application was rejected because my wife and I have different family names. I carry my family name, and she carries hers. Even though I provided all the documents proving that we are married and one family, and I was also prepared to pay a large amount of money, our attempt was unsuccessful. I am exhausted from trying again and again and finding every path closed in front of us, but I will not stop. I will continue searching for any legal and safe way that can give my family a chance to live far from war, bombing, and fear. Please, don’t give up on Rafif’s family. If anyone can help us through a scholarship, humanitarian evacuation, or a trusted organization that is genuinely able to help my family reach safety, I beg you to contact me or help connect me with them. I am not searching for a perfect life… I only want to protect my wife and my children. I don’t want to lose my family here in Gaza. 💔

This sweet father, Mahdi, has three boys, the youngest two are completely blind and have brain atrophy. Both boys were born during the genocide, no telling if their condition is genetic, or what they have been diagnosed with - an infection that the mother had in her, passed on during pregnancy, affecting the fetus. An infection from contaminated water? From a respiratory illness? A parasite? Raw sewage? All conditions created by the occupation. Support: These children born in 2023 and 2025 suffer from the results of minimal prenatal care and screenings for their mother and the lack of proper testing when they were born, all because the medical infrastructure in Gaza has been destroyed. What we can do now is support them with medication and proper nutrition to minimize their hardships. On January 25 The Sameer Project provided them with 4 cans of milk formulas, 2 packs of diapers, and the medication (anti-seizure) that the boys need. This cost $230 after 11% commission. Anticonvulsants are very difficult to source in Gaza, STILL, post “ceasefire” since the occupation withholds the medication and medical supplies from entering the strip. So while not all their medication was available we provided what we could, again another crime the occupations committing - limiting access to healthcare.
