Since the violent incidents between Kuki and Meiteis in May 2023, Modi Sarkar quickly announced a financial package >Rs. 101 crore for relief and rehabilitation of people living in shelter camps. To ensure impartial judicial proceedings, the central govt requested the Supreme Court to transfer the trial out of Manipur to Assam, aiming to reduce local tensions and interference. Govt is actively supporting displaced families affected by violence by constructing 7,000 new houses and approving a special package of approximately Rs. 3,000 crore, including Rs. 500 crore specifically for displaced persons' assistance. Unlike previous govts, Modi Sarkar has maintained a continuous and active presence in Manipur during crises. Ministers, including the Union Home Minister and MoS, have stayed in the state to oversee relief efforts and maintain law and order.
