Justin I’m sorry to say you are very very wrong on this one. My family goes back generations as native NYers and what canal street has turned into is VERY different. It is a full blown open air drug market now with extremely aggressive counterfeit vendors and now open air drug dealers. (No one cares about them selling fake stuff! We care about what it has become and that is a full blown open air drug market!) I run one of the largest NYC based channels on YouTube and I’ve probably walked more miles in this city than anyone, period! Canal street has changed and my issue is the open air drug trade where dealers sell tainted product to homeless people. This causes unbelievable outbursts, suffering and violence on canal street. I am more than happy to share with you hours of video over the years of the structural decline that is canal street. I cover more ground in this city than ANYONE at all hours of the day. Please don’t gaslight me. If you’d like I’m more than happy to meet with you and talk more about this experience. To be clear: the problem is what canal street has morphed into! Just got a comment on my latest video saying something about how it was hard for Agents like Evelyn to clear the new Shiyu Defense because it favors "front loaded DMG" and she "can't properly clear" due to it working against her nature of saving everything for the stun window. ... So I tested it. Again. Honestly, I'm convinced a lot of y'all are just parroting what we (CCs) say at this point and use it as your own validation without knowing the actual reasoning/testing behind the opinion. There's no shot in hell you guys are talking about front loaded DMG and who it prevents from clearing, then changing the goal post to anything else after random players show you otherwise. Evelyn is one of the strongest Agents to own in ZZZ because she's practically a baby Yixuan (neutral matchups across the board). Eve has front loaded, back loaded, & any other loaded DMG at her disposal. Your linear, one-track thinking is preventing most of you from being way better players than you believe. Most of y'all would curb stomp the game if you just tried instead of instantly quitting after the first couple fails. And before I get the usual crowd of 6th grade readers, I completely understand how some of these end game changes are affecting the players who are trying but don't know the method, or players who just straight up don't care and play what they want. if you want to make short films but feel stuck when it comes to "story" - try portraying a mood/feeling. you don't always need a satisfying conclusion or a standard 3 part structure. everyone will bombard you with narrative importance, and of course it's important, but some of my favourite shorts and feature films have fairly simple loose scripts, but they convey an incredible tone and feeling. you can just create a world and bring people into it for a few minutes. focus on the feeling with good production design, acting, and sound. you're practicing so don't let writing hold you back. will some people want more? absolutely. will it make sense to everyone? doubtful. the key is it has to be interesting to YOU.. stop caring about everyone else. make something that you like because you're not unique, there will be other people on your wavelength, and if they're not so be it. doesn't matter. give it a feeling that you like and do everything you can to convey it cinematically. ultimately the only audience member that truly matters is you, so if you have a really simple idea like "why does air chilled chicken sound funny?" go execute it and see what happens.
