動画にすると、コーデックの影響で映像も音もどうしても劣化してしまうのが残念ですね。実機では、グラフィックはもちろん、音もこの動画よりずっとクリアに鳴っています。 この動画は三脚に固定して撮影しているのですが、モニターから出た音をスタジオの大きなスピーカーで再生していたため、音圧で映像が小刻みに揺れているのが分かります😅

このビデオの音は、MD（Model 1 / VA6）のヘッドフォンアウトを RND 511 マイクプリアンプに入力し、TEXTURE を半分ほど上げて軽く音圧を足したうえで RME UFX II に入れ、Cubase 15 で収録しています。 ほぼ素のMDサウンドですが、かなり迫力のある音になっているのが分かっていただけると思います。

These are pretty carefully captured and edited to show the major differences between Japanese CRTs and American CRTs. I would be curious what you think is closer to what you were seeing during testing and development.

I’ve always checked and debugged the game using BizHawk, and I’d say the look of Earthion is closer to the PVM-1341. That said, the differences between the BizHawk display and those two CRTs are very slight.

I have an NEC PC CRT that's even closer to the NHK standard phosphor, but the 1341 is also pretty close to both NHK and ARIB/MUSE color so it works well enough. I'll have to research the BizHawk, I've never heard of it. Thanks!

I finally got my NEC FE990 PC CRT under control! Looks Great! The color chart shows how accurate it is to these NHK color space coordinates. I'll install Earthion from Steam and see how it looks 😎

Sounds great! As I don't have the original hardware to run this on, which port would you recommend? Switch2 or PC? Or any other particular system? Side note: Please educate an uneducated hillbilly such as myself. When I translate this post, the name is translated to "Arshion"? Is it because it's a phonetic description of "Earthion" that's easier for native Japanese speakers to pronounce (see below)?

All versions play virtually the same. If you prefer something portable, I’d recommend the Switch version, or the Steam version if you want to play on a Steam Deck. As for the name being translated as “Arshion,” yeah… I’m still waiting for X to fix that 🙂

スマホ側の動画のFPS設定をいじったり、撮影する距離をかえてみたり　ですかね

ありがとうございます。 結構色々試してはいるんですが、黒い帯状の横線はやっぱ見えてしまいますね。 古代さんの動画は綺麗に撮影されてますね。

私もこれ以上の良い画質でとりたいのですが撮り方が悪いのがカメラ(iphone11)が悪いのか・・目下研究中です。

MDゲーム機用のカートリッジ版がいつ発売されるのかをずっと注視しているのですが、もうすでに第2弾がいつ発売されるのかを想像してしまっています（笑）。

What's especially good about the game is the clever level design. Besides the graphics, which are superb, the levels themselves are beautifully designed. Note that the SFX are chosen so they don't clash with the BGM (love stage 5). And BGM emphasize the dynamics of the game.

@ShiryuGL Yes we have new technology today, but nothing beats the old 1990s CRT technology. Those older tvs have super high refresh rates.

When will it be possible to order the Japanese version of the megadrive cartridge? Do you have a link to an official seller?

I got an OLD 25" Sony CRT just for this. And the Mega Drive IS one of those system that plays better the sounds on the real machine. Powerfull bass and very nice FM. We know what if capable off thank to ur great songs. For me, specially BK or SOR saga. Cant wait to check this! 💪

Will the Mega Drive Version feature Highscore saving? Since it will probably use flash chips instead of EPROMs, maybe Highscore cloud be implemented? 🙂

Unfortunately, no. It’s a standard ROM without battery backup, so the high scores are lost once the power is turned off.

It was just a crazy idea by me. 😉 I will definitely buy Earthion MD, no matter what. 👍🙂
