I posted about it recently. In Japan, there is something called "jiko bukken" where landlords or estate agents pay people to sleep in what they call "accident house" i.e houses where people die in certain circumstances like suicide, fire etc and they only rent it out to the public if the person who slept there doesn't feel any sign of ghosts and confirms the house is not haunted
