Reminds me of when I was a kid we would go to the Texas State Fair and watch the women make taffy in the taffy wagon. You could buy it by the box and fill it with different flavors (mine was pecan). It was fun to watch them turn the taffy, but even more fun to eat. 🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬

As a welder I know those gloves has lose fibers that can easily break lose. So I’d say the candy has a little something extra in it.
