Well yea… the Type 88 gun used flak shells that had 3x the explosive mass and almost 20x the total shell weight (mine shells were a lot of explosive where as flak had smaller explosive and a lot of shrapnel) You are looking at 20-40x more damage per bullet on a direct hit

B-24は構造的に脆くて堕ちやすく、現場ではB-17の方が人気があったらしいね

Also worth noting the B-17’s wing spar structure was much more sturdy than the B-24s. Not to say a direct hit like that wouldn’t take out the wing on a B-17, but there certainly was a difference.

It seems they hit the exact part of the wing which held everything, leading to it being torn immediately. Must be also because of larger and bigger HE cannons, still really impressive they got it at such a height
