You helped us bring this tour to people who couldn’t be there in person, and because of you, thousands of fans around the world got to feel a little closer, a little more connected, and a little more included. CORE MEMORIES A few months ago, we were simply waiting for everything to happen. And we are truly blessed that Dubai became their first out-of-the-country destination for promotion. When we received confirmation early last week that Dustin and Bianca would be part of the MMFF Concert, I was actually very sick—but that didn’t stop us. We immediately started planning, gathered all our members here in the UAE, and reached out to other silent fans because I was sure there were a lot of them out there. Donations started right away, knowing that we only had a few days to prepare. The most challenging part was this: our members were ready, the funds were ready, but we couldn’t finalize anything. Aside from the news that they were coming and the concert date, we had no other details. Still, that didn’t stop us. We anticipated that everything would be confirmed last minute, so we prepared Plan A, Plan B to D(😁). We created several proposals to seek approval from both management teams. From then on, it became a waiting game and everything depended on coordination. We initially thought we’d be given ample time with them, but when their schedule details came in, we learned that their itinerary was extremely tight. This led us to request at least four hours of their time, then two hours, and eventually, we were begging for at least 30 minutes just to be with them exclusively. All of these confirmations only came upon their arrival at the airport. Even Bianca’s arrival details were shared with us only then, which forced us to adjust our plans yet again—but as I said, we had already anticipated this. The orders came in unexpectedly, and we didn’t forecast it. I really feel for the production team because they’ve had to work late nights. We truly want everyone to get a chance to try them.🩷 🎤: So what are you doing to meet the demand? 🐰: We’re already ramping up production, but it’s not something that can be done instantly. There are processes involved, and we also have to order more ingredients. Some of those take months to arrive. 🎤: Did you ever think it would become this big? 🐰: Never. All of us have been working at our fullest from the beginning to make the best product possible, something that makes people happy when they eat it. Taking time today to celebrate a passionate and visionary leader who has been part of our MTN 🇺🇬 success story - Somdev Sen MTN UgandaCMO who has been our Chief Marketing Officer for the last 6yrs. I will remember Som for many things..his first answer to everything is No, No, No..😅…never being one to take the conventional path but always choosing to swim upstream…I have to admit, it took me a while to understand 😃. He has been passionate about DOING MORE for Uganda which has been demonstrated by key campaigns that he and his team have executed - many of them memorable, some of them provocative, but all driven by a passion to make our brand the subconscious choice of every Ugandan. He surprised me with his love for photography (it’s a patient sport…a skill which so contradicts his everyday personality!) but his most endearing attribute was the deep care he had for his team, creating an environment where everyone’s contribution was valued and celebrated. In the coming days, I will share some photos and perspectives on the EVA last week. To start with, Nichole “Vapor” Ayers and I wanted to share our gratitude to the ground teams as a whole at the end of the EVA. Here is that clip and transcript. ---------- “Marcos, while we wait for these couple of minutes, from EV1 Anne, I'd just like to say thanks to my family and friends from Washington to Kansas City, from Naples to L.A. I also want to give a huge thanks to all the teams that made today safe and got the mission executed. Our prep team, Judd, Sandy, and Scott. Our execution team, Stephen, Bailey, Lucas, Faruq, Lauren, and the other Sandy. A good mission starts with a good plan. I want to also thank prior crew that have done this strut EVA. Kate, Victor, Aki, Thomas, Kayla, Raja, Josh, Frank, Koichi, and Nicole - we stand on the shoulders of giants, and there were so many lessons learned from your EVAs put into this one. For our suit IVs, Takuya and Jonny, absolutely flawless execution. Can't wait to see you in a minute, I hope you put dinner in. To the two voices I've been listening to, Nichole and Marcos, you two are phenomenal. These two, Nichole Ayers and Marcos Berrios, remember those names. They're going to be our future giants in this office, and they represent the best of us. And most of all, I want to thank our flight director, Diana Trujillo. Behind every major NASA accomplishment in space is a flight director who holds ultimate responsibility for the planning and safe execution. Diana, EVA 93 belongs to you. Human spaceflight is absolutely the ultimate achievement of our time. Whether you work on the ground or if you fly to space for six months or six minutes, this incredible legacy is yours. Thank you to everyone. And over to you, Nichole.” “Well said, Anne. I think that with this year being the 25th anniversary of human presence in space, it seems fitting that we're continuing to upgrade the ISS to preserve the life through 2030. We're honored to be a small part of a much larger team that facilitates the groundbreaking science that we perform here on the National Lab that is the International Space Station. What we accomplish and learn here not only furthers our efforts for the moon and onto Mars, but it informs how we do life on Earth. So huge thank you to the ground team that made this happen. Thank you to our friends and families for supporting us and getting us to this moment.”
