A fresh audio clip allegedly involving Moodbidri Police Inspector Sandesh has gone viral, revealing another disturbing dimension to the ongoing controversy. The audio purportedly suggests that the inspector maintained an illicit relationship with a woman for nearly eight years and is now allegedly attempting to target her daughter for sexual exploitation. In the audio, which is said to contain a conversation between Inspector Sandesh and the woman, she can reportedly be heard confronting him and warning him to stay away from her daughter. In the recording, the woman says, “Look, Sandesh, I have tolerated you all these years only to protect your dignity. Even though you were with me for eight years, I never filed a complaint anywhere. But now casting your eye on my daughter is not right. If you trouble her, I will not spare you. I will teach you a lesson. Do not go near my daughter.” Her statements reflect the seriousness of the allegations. Further adding to the controversy, CCTV footage has reportedly surfaced showing Inspector Sandesh jumping over the compound wall of a woman living alone and entering her house at night. The woman’s husband works in Dubai, leaving her alone with her child. According to the allegations, when she protested or threatened to inform her husband, the inspector warned her that her reputation would be ruined. The woman claims that even complaints to senior police officials have not resulted in any action. Several women have reportedly filed complaints against Inspector Sandesh. According to the complainants, the inspector allegedly threatens them by saying that no matter whom they approach—whether the Police Commissioner, the Home Minister, or any other authority—no action will be taken against him. He is also alleged to have boasted that he secured his posting by paying ₹50 lakh to the Home Minister. The latest allegations have sparked outrage in the region, raising serious concerns about the alleged misuse of power by a senior police officer. Critics say the case highlights a troubling situation in which women seeking protection from the police are themselves claiming to face harassment from law enforcement personnel.

Three men have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 35-year-old woman in #Karnataka’s #Hubballi on Friday night and circulating videos of the sexual assault on social media. Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar identified the men as Shivanand, 29, Ganesh, 31, and Pradeep, 28—all residents of Hubballi. According to a police officer, the accused picked up the woman from the #Heggeri area, took her to an isolated location in an autorickshaw, sexually assaulted her, and forced her to drink alcohol around 11.30 pm. They shot videos and photographs of the assault, later sharing them on social media platforms. Local residents who learnt about the incident from the videos allegedly assaulted the accused, shaved their heads, and handed them over to the police. Shashi Kumar told the media on Sunday that the woman had arrived in Hubballi approximately one and a half months ago after her husband had been jailed in a domestic violence case. She had been homeless since, spending nights outside temples and on streets, surviving on food provided at the #SiddharoodhaMutt and other religious places. “The accused watched the woman roaming in the area and lured her offering money and food. Then they took her to an isolated place to gang-rape her. They also recorded videos and shared them on social media,” Shashi Kumar said. Shashi Kumar said that Shivanand and Ganesh were booked for the gang rape, while Pradeep has been accused of circulating the video on social media. While the locals assaulted Ganesh and Shivanand, a case was registered against the locals on Shivanand’s complaint. Four of the locals have been taken into custody. Shashi Kumar said he would hold discussions with the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal corporation commissioner and officials of the women and child welfare department to explore measures to provide the woman with shelter and support her. A police officer said the woman hails from #Shivamogga district and that she had filed a domestic violence case against her husband a few months ago. After her husband’s arrest, she moved to Hubballi, the officer added. The police said investigations were underway in the gang rape case.
